You coolant system needs to be pressure tested to determine a possible leak or intake gasket problem. The radiator and reservoir caps as well.
If that all checks out ok...then a cylinder compression leakdown test is advised.
Good luck...i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya

I have a 1996 buick skylark gran sport , and it kept running hot then it died at light, then started back up, started to run hot again, so i pulled over let it cool and also add water to help cool it down...

You may have done serious damage to the engine. If the water level is fine and you didn't blow your head offs when you penned the radiator cap like it tells toy not to when hot, it's the water circulation pump failing.

Water pump needs to be replaced. Don't keep driving it like that. It's bad bad bad for your engine. Unfortunately a water pump isn't typically easy to replace, seek professional help.

My 1996 cherokee sport runs hot, flushed out the radiator with a liquid cleaner and a water hose, and replaced the thermostat

If you have a thermometer you can do a poor mans check of your radiator. Go across the fins and record the readings if there is a big difference in readings you have at least a partial blockage and your radiator will need rebuilt.

Also check to make sure that your water pump is in good shape. A bad water pump cost me an engine on my 1995 Grand Cherokee.

When I installed a separate transmission cooler it not only solved problems with my transmission it also brought down the overall temperature my engine was running at.

I have a c200 1996 classic, auto. The front radiator's fan (NOT THE DOUBLE ac FANS) is not spinning fast enough to cool the engine. what is causing the weakness of the radiator's fan spin? I appriciate....

The front fan is a slow spinning ac fan, the rear rad fans are for cooling and also ac at times, if the car is overheating then you may need to check the coolant fan sensor,or the thermostant,

My car keeps overheating what should i do to solve the problem

1 Check if the radiator fan is working properly. 2 Check the level of coolant in the radiator. If less top it up. 3 Check the oil level. May be the oil is less. If so top it up. 4 Check the water hoses are connected properly and there is no leakage at the connecting points. 5 Get the fins at the radiator cleaned up to allow free flow of air. 6 If all this OK and the car is still getting overheated then either the water circulation pump or the oil pump is not functioning.

My car leaks water, but not from the radiator

water or coolant? if it is juat plain old water there is nothing to be concerned about it is likely condensation from somewhere. if it's coolant you will notice that the level will be droping consistanly. Check all of the hoses going to and from the radiator and the heater core and the coolant resuvoir, look on the engine block for pooling somewhere it might help in locating where the leak is. Leaks are sometimes very difficult to locate because the fluid can run down the outside of a hose or a part of the car and drip in another area away from the source.

Just bought a 1997 taurus had an oil change and a radiator flush now the antifreeze keeps come out the resiroe

Might have been overfilled. If it continues to do so, watch the temp gauage in your car if it gets to high, its a thermastat problem r-r it....Check the radiator cap make sure the rubber gromets are in good condition and not cr5acked, and is tightened properly....So overflow is ok..But if it continues to spill out and you level is droping in the radiator itself.. Take it to yer nearest non-dealer mech...Could be water pump, and other issues. A dealership will charge you 5X more than yer local yokel...trust me save the money.
