Generally timing chains do not need to be changed for the life of the engine or till they are noisy/rattling. Timing belts on the other hand usually are changed at 100,000km or when ever specified by manufacturers service schedule. If you are not sure if it has been replaced, replace it anyway, its alot cheaper than if it breaks. good luck

You have a timing chain. It should be changed when it get stretched, usually about 150-200K.

When do I need to have the timing belt checked on my 2002 buick century? the car has 102,000 miles on it.

Your 2002 century doesn't have a timing belt. It has a timing chain. Timing chains don't need to be changed at a certain mileage.

Your cutlass has a timing chain, not a belt. A chain doesn't have regular replacement intervals.

chains are changed - usually.
If it was belt - 50k miles (but I took mine to 100k even though the manual said 60k but I don't drive hard)

this car uses a timing chain, there is no set time interval to replace a timing chain, they last the life of the car in most cases.

Just get a new compressor with one on it. Changing the clutch is a waste of time and your money.

Installing serpentine belt on buick lasabre 1995

motor mount does not need to be removed. there is an idler pulley which can be lifted up using a socket and long bar. the belt relaxes and is easily removed and replaced.

Loosen the serpintine belt on 95 buick lesabre

I'm sure you got it figured out by now, but I just did this today. the belt can be given slack by placing a ratchet on the belt tension pulley (the smaller one located to the left of the alternator) and applying counterclockwise pressure. This will give you enough slack to remove the belt. It is helpful to draw a little diagram of the belt configuration, so when you put on the new one, you get all the directions right.
