What problems are you having? There is only one filter on it, and unless you had very low fuel pressure, changing the filter really doesn't do too much.

My 96 grand cherokee acts like it is not getting gas

I have a 96 also and also had that problem #1 get the fule filter replaced.. #2 get some car/injector cleaner in the gas. #3 get some spray for carb and open up the air filter and shoot the cleaner in while running the engine.. You also can change the spark plugs and roter and cap and do a nice tune up and it will run like a new car..

My 96 grand cherokee studders and stalls when i come to a stop and when i hit the gas to start driving again it studders . it feels as if the fuel is not getting by

Check the fuel filter, then, if you feel like it's a problem with fuel. It sounds to me, though, like it's probably the EGR (this regulates how the leftover gas vapor gets re-introduced into the gas mix). Check the air filter while you're at it. You might also end up replacing the mass airflow sensor.

I have a 96 jeep grand cherokee laredo, straight 6, It will not idle unless I jump it then hold the gas and brake at the same time. it dies otherwilse, sometimes after trying a few times it will begin to...

to start out with, change any fuel filters you can find. Change the air filter out, too. Once all the filters have been changed out, add a small amount of "SeaFoam" to the fuel, and see if it helps any.

At 1st, it ran rough, almost like the timing jumped. I found out I bought bad gas which may have caused the problem. after draining the tank, and replacing some of the fuel, it doesn't want to run at all...

did you replace the fuel filter?

depending one how bad the gas, you may need to drop the tank to replace the filter/sock on the pump.

let start simple first...
are you getting fuel at the fuel rail?
and try adding a fuel bottles of "dry gas" which is just a water eliminator. Water in the gas is the largest concern of "bad gas"

Tp fuel pumps from same year different wireing

What you brought is an tank and unit from 1995 JGC. from 1993 till 1995 they have the same fuel pump. 96'er Jeeps start with OBD - Systems and they have other fuel pumps. You can't change the plug ins, because you may have other fuel filter in your Granny. Check filter and fuel lines if they fit with the unit you brought. If not, you need another unit from a real 96'er Jeep

I need to find where the fuel filter is for a Grand Cherokee V8. 1993. the car starts but will not take stepping on the gas, the engine dies. I would like to change the fuel filter but I can't find it.

Hi larry, the fuel filter is located under the jeep, in front of the gas tank, in the gas line. To change, u must depressurize the fuel system. curt
