Question about 1993 Isuzu Trooper

Where is the ECM located on a 1993 Isuzu Trooper?

I have one coil pack that is not working. I need to try unplugging the ECM and battery in order for it to reset....maybe. Also need to look for corroded wires.

If you don't have a coil pack working, unplugging the ECM will do nothing to reset the coil pack. If you have power present at the plug, you need a new coil pack.

In a 92 isuzu trooper, where is the ignition coil??

It depends on the engine. The SOHC ignition coil assembly (there are three of them in one pack) is located on top, towards the front of the vehicle. On the DOHC, it is located towards the rear of the engine compartment.

***CAUTION: Do NOT touch the coil packs with the engine running. They generate upwards of 88,000 Volts, and can cause serious injury!***

Where is the distributor located in the 2000 isuzu trooper?

Should be on the back side of the motor, but i believe that in that year Isuzu trooper got away from using distributors, rotors, coil packs etc. It is electronic igniton meaning that the power delivery is controlled by computer sending the firing codes to the individual coil pack above the spark plugs. I could be wrong but the research I did on your behalf turned up nothing for that year. I searched advanceautoparts.com as well for a replacement distirbutor and there is no part found, only the coil pack I mentioned above.

1993 3.2 trooper misfiring

Have a look at your spark plug wires. You may have one laying upon a hot surface which may have caused degradation to the wire's insulation which would allow the spark energy to short to ground instead of going to your spark plug. If you find a damaged wire, replace them all with NGK stock wires (very good quality), and find a way to prop up your wires so that they won't touch anything.

Also, you may have a defective spark plug. Change them all as well. I just installed NGK Iridium plugs and they perform excellently.

You should have coil packs. Each coil pack fires two plugs. You may have a defective coil pack.
They should be right up front on top of the engine. Engine coolant lines run underneath them, perhaps the defective unit is affected by the heat from the coolant hoses.
