This indicates a camshaft position sensor fault, could be the sensor, wiring or the computer, needs to be properly diagnosed.

How do I reset the computer system on a 2006 Ford Explorer

Are you asking how to reset the computer or how to clear an error code/check engine light? Clearing a check engine light (which will also clear the error code) can be done with a code scanner. These are usually available for use at little or no cost at any larger auto parts store (they may even connect the scanner for you and record/clear the code). One word of caution, however: if you clear the code but don't repair the cause, the code and light will return after a brief amount of time. Now as for resetting the computer itself, not recommended that you try since error codes are stored in non-volatile memory. Disconnecting the battery's positive terminal for an hour or so may clear the check engine light, but, again, it will reappear and regenerate the error code unless the cause is fixed. Good luck.

Engine code p1309 P/S advice on repair

The definition of this code is:
P1309 Engine Misfire Detection Monitor not enabled

It's a problem with the detection circuitry, not a detection of a engine misfire condition. I found this quickly on the net:
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1309 indicates Misfire Detection Monitor is not enabled.

Breakout box installed, PCM disconnected. Connect digital multimeter between PCM test pin 85 and test pins 51 or 103. Bump engine in short burst with the starter without starting engine for at least 10 engine revolutions. Answer this question: Does digital multimeter reading switch between low (less than 2.0 volts DC) and high (greater than 8.0 volts DC)?

If Yes, Verify correct installation by referring to the Powertrain/Engine Group in the Workshop Manual. If the CMP is installed properly, REPLACE PCM. RESTORE vehicle. RERUN Quick Test.

If no, REPLACE CMP sensor. RESTORE vehicle. COMPLETE Misfire Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle. RERUN Quick Test.

The CMP sensor is the Camshaft Position Sensor.

My car have problen code P1309 plz help me

HI, The P1309 can be set due to a couple of problems the common being the CPS camshaft position sensor failed. There are other components that can cause this code to set including the ECT engine coolant temp, MAF mass air flow, CKP crank shaft position. There are no simple test that can be done at home but this code is usualy quick to diagnose for a good tech.

Engine light on with code P1309

This code could mean:
  • the camshaft position sensor could be defective,
  • the camshaft synchronizer (the part that took the place of the distributor on DIS engines) has failed,
  • if you have recently had the camshaft synchronizer replaced it could be out of time.

Code P0174 ON MY 2003 FORD EXPLORER 4.0. I JUST CLEANED THE MAF SENSOR WITH CRC CLEANER AND STILL SHOWS THE CHECK ENGINE. IT SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THE HESITATED ACCELERATION. PLEASE HELP!

If you fix the problem with your vechile, the code still shows up in the computer untill it is removed. Who or where ever read the computer for you and told you what to do needs to erase the code from the system. Once that's done the check engine light will go off and shouldn't come on untill there is a new problem.

2000 ford explorer ''check engine light''

This vehicle has the OBDII system and you can only retrieve codes on this with a scan tool. Some of your parts houses like Autozone will retieve them for you for free.
