Question about 2000 Chrysler Town & Country
about 2 months ago we had transmission flushed on our Plymouth Voyager. We did this prior to our summer trip. Not long after we returned from our trip there was a huge puddle of transmission fluid all over garage floor. It was "strawberry shake" color and consistency. We took car to our mechanic and discovered that radiator coolant was mixed with tranny fluid. He replaced radiator and we took car to the garage that did original transmission flush. They flushed transmission 4 times, flushed radiator, changed filters, gave us free oil change. All work was free of charge. Person that originaly flushed tranny wrote out that he overfilled it causing radiator to expand causing fluid to mix. He also wrote IOU for cost of our radiator. 2 weeks later transmission failed. We are having it fixed, but they are claiming that they haven't done anything wrong. Have they? Do we have any cause for small claims court? If they didn't do anything wrong why do all the work for free, write IOU and write explanation of what happened? Anyone have any thoughts?? What should we do? Thanks:))
Well first off, coolant in the transmission will cause transmission failure if left in long enough. Proving why the radiator failed will be another story.
