Pump a jumper in the connector the low pressure compressor cycling switch near the accumulator canister to see if the Compressor engages. See picture of switch below, it is in the low pressure line or the accumulator.

Just replaced ac compressor and still not working. replaced a relay also. What would keep itfrom coming on?

Could have a faulty low pressure switch.
The low pressure switch is located on the air conditioning line in the right rear of the engine compartment near the firewall.

The low-pressure switch in your air conditioning system is used to interrupt power to the compressor when the low side pressure drops below 25 psi. This prevents freeze-up of the system and possible damage to the compressor. When the switch is faulty, the symptoms of freeze-up, or no compressor function, will be present. Replacement is straightforward, but requires the removal of refrigerant from the system.

My 1998 Chevrolet Silverado will not take freon but the air condition does not blow cold air

Not enough info.with the compressor running and the charge line on the low pressure service port( the big line)it should charge. Be sure the compressor is running. If it's not: There is a low pressure switch in the big line. to check it disconnect the 2 wire connector, use a paper clip to jump between the 2 wires. If the compressor runs either the switch is bad or the pressure is not getting into the system at the fill port

My air condition works then turns off

If it cycles on and off the system is low on freon. A low pressure switch senses the low pressure and shuts the system down to avoid damage.

Need some good feedback

Air conditioning stops and starts

Probably a low charge. A low charge will interrmittingly cause the low pressure switch to cut on and off to protect the system

Air conditioning does not work

IS YOUR AC COMPRESSOR DOES NOT TURN ON YOUR MAY HAVE LOW FREON. THERE IS A PRESSURE SWITCH WHICH MUST HAVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PRESSURE TO ENGAGE THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH. CHECK FREON LEVEL ON THE LOW SIDE. AUTOZONE WILL SOMETIMES DO THIS FOR YOU OR YOU CAN BUY A GAUGE FOR ABOUT 20 DOLLARS. IF YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT PRESSURE POST BACK AND I WILL WALK YOU THROUGH TESTING

My air conditioning blows hot air. Won't accept

Is the system low on Freon? If not, you most likely have a bad A/C compressor, or a bad low pressure switch.
