Does the engine need servicing? The service engine soon light will only comes on if there is a problem. It will not come on if the bulb is burned out. Or. If there are no issues.

SOURCE: 2003 MITSUBISHI GALANT HOW TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB

First you disconnect the 3 prong electric plug. To disconnect squeeze the side tabs together (hard) and pull away from the bulb, then you can pull off the protective rubber covering, (its a little snug so give it a tug from the 2 tabs on the top and bottom).

Next unscrew the little Phillips head screw to loosen the bracket that clips in the bulb (take note of how the clip is installed before you remove it, it holds the bulb securely in place).
Just loosen the screw as you do not need to remove it all the way. Pull out the old bulb and replace it with the new one.

The bulb has 3 spacing tabs on it so it can only go in one way. Make note of this when you remove it so you may replace it the same way. follow the steps in reverse and your done.
Note: The little wire clip that holds the bulb in can be a pain. Make sure you get a really good look at it, since it pops out as soon as you loosen the screw. If you get lost, you can always look at the other headlight. Oh, and don't do this in the dark.

SOURCE: how do I reset the service engine soon light?

two ways you can do it. First it would be best to find someone with a code reader to find out what the code is ,some times aout parts stores will check the code for you and maybe even clear it for you.otherwise unhook one of your battery cables for a little while and the check engine light will go off untill what ever set it off sets it off again note unhooking the battery will clear your radio stations

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4 ES. The "service engine soon" light has come up. How can I reset it.

have the codes scanned (most parts stores will do this for free) then cleared but if you just clear the codes it probably just come back on there a reason why that light comes on need to fix the problem

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES and after checking my oil, my service engine soon light came on, it is time for an oil change, can this be the reason for the light or is it something more?

if your talking about the check engine light being on, no, it will not come on because of oil service time. you may of left something off. if the dipstick or oil cap is loose this could set a code.

I dont know how to change the light bulb on a 2003 mitsubishi

well if its the front headlights, because you weren't specific, heres what you do. First remove the cable harnessthat connects to the back of each light. it will be hard to remove at first if you havent changed the headlights in quite a while. just move the harness to and fro until you feel it removing itself from the bulb. As soon as you have the harness removed, you then remove the black rubber protectant. After that you will see a silver wire which holds the bulb in place. The wire opens outwards so there is a v shaped end to the wire. push that part in and pull it down it, it should open up leaving only the light bulb hanging out. Sorry i made it so long but i hope it will help you!!!

Service engine soon-2003 mitsubishi galant, 87000 miles

it might be the a couple of thngs...

1)catalytic converter messed up
2)oxygen sensor before or after the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.
3)belts need tightening
4)your fuel cap has not been well tightened.

go down to a mechanic and have them check your engine light. They most likely will have a computer to check and narrow down what might be the problem.

Service engine soon.

it mearns that the computer is sensing a failure. You will need to see if it has logged any codes, and troubleshoot from there. You can go to many auto parts suppliers (autozone, ect) and many will read the codes for you, or you can purchase code reader and do it yourself

The "Service Engine Soon" light came on in my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. Is this an emission related issue?

More than likely it is, but you will need to have the codes scanned and description of that code to know what the cause is.
