How do you get air from cooling system

Remove the radiator cap while the engine is ticking over - from cold...

As the engine warms up and the thermostat opens, the air will be forced out .. you will see bubbles in the radiator. Let the warm water 'surge' out of the water filler cap. Switch off the engine and then, when cool .. top the coolant up if necessary.

Not a big problem. Just let the engine tick over with the filler/radiator cap removed until it warms up.

If it's air in your heating system .. just slacken one of the hoses from the engine to the heater unit, and let the engine warm up and dribble coolant out. The air will be expelled..

Ticking sound in top end of 04 intrepid 2.7. I have replaced the water pump as it was overheating...that problem is gone. Replaced the timing chain and tensioner and all new gaskets... its ticking once...

check that you have put the right amount of oil in the sump as the oil light is probably coming as the oil surges away from the pump. disregard the dip stick for a minute . There is normally around 4 litres of oil in a sump ( 1 us gallon)

Engine revs on its own! vw polo

There are many number of reasons for this problem...but a VERY common one is a faulty thermo sensor which controls air / fuel ratio.

This is going to sound a bit far-fetched, but I've had a similar problem with a '93 discovery... Turns out the problem was water in fuel tank.
