How to replace headlight assembly

  1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.
  2. Unplug the harness connector that attaches to the rear of the headlight.
  3. Unfasten the locking ring which secures the bulb and socket assembly, then withdraw the assembly rearward.
  4. If necessary, gently pry the socket's retaining clip over the projection on the bulb (use care not to break the clip.) Pull the bulb from the socket. To install:
  5. Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  6. Line up the replacement headlight bulb with the socket. Firmly push the bulb onto the socket until the spring clip latches over the bulb's projection. WARNING
Do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers ! Oil from your fingers can severely shorten the life of the bulb. If necessary, wipe off any dirt or oil from the bulb with rubbing alcohol before completing installation.
  7. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. (If this is a combination low and high beam bulb, be sure to check both intensities.) If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
  8. Position the headlight bulb and secure it with the locking ring.
  9. Close the vehicle's hood.

Change out a taillight

You want to change the tail light bulb?

The process for replacing tail light bulbs is the same in all models. If you have a burnt-out tail light bulb, you may need to replace the brake light, the reverse light or the turn signal. The procedure to replace each of the bulbs is the same.

    Instructions

    1. Open the Hummer's rear swing gate. This will expose the edge of the vehicle's tail light assembly. You'll see two small Phillips head screws that hold the tail light assembly in place. Put on your gloves.

    2. Remove the two screws from the tail light assembly. Pull the tail light out and inspect the back for two bulbs. The top bulb is the brake light and turn signal. The bottom bulb is the reverse bulb. Determine which bulb you need to replace.

3Rotate the bulb's socket counterclockwise to disconnect it. Unplug the bulb from its socket.

4Push the replacement bulb into its socket firmly. Insert the socket back into the tail light. Turn it clockwise to secure it in place.

5Place the tail light into its cradle. Hold it with one hand and replace the Phillips head screws with the other.

How to replace toyota matrix front headlight bulb

Hi,

Replacing a headlight on a Toyota Matrix is a simple process that only requires the use of a screwdriver and a replacement bulb. The Matrix uses 9006 bulbs for the low beams and 9005 bulbs for the high beams. Headlight bulbs can be purchased at auto parts stores.
Replacing Low Beam Bulb
  1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood
  2. Rotate the bulb base in the headlamp assembly counterclockwise to remove the low beam bulb. Unplug the electrical connector. If the connector is too tight, wiggle it slightly to help remove it.
  3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place it into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Close the hood.
Replacing High Beam Bulb
  1. Turn off the engine of the Matrix and open the hood. If replacing the left-hand headlight, remove the air cleaner duct by removing the securing clip with a screwdriver and pulling the duct out of the vehicle.
  2. Turn the bulb base counterclockwise to remove it. Unplug the electrical connector.
  3. Install a new bulb into the connector and place the bulb into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Reattach the air cleaner duct if replacing the left-hand headlight. Close the hood
I hope this helps.

Best regards.
