forget about colors or numbers. The wires just have to end up in the same location if your splicing it in.

Okay here we go, there are three wires from the map sensor, if you look at the sensor there are letters stamped on the plug area, theres an A,B,and C the wires start from the sensor as orange/blk to terminal A then lite green wire to terminal B and last is gray wire to terminal C . im not sure what wires your freind cut but there only one at computer for map sensor and thats the signal wire, all slots at computer are numbered the signal wire is light green and connects to slot #25. heres a diagram for all wires to computer you will need to locate the wire in order to connect them back, this is not hard find the open slots and check diagram for wire color, hope this helps, good luck.3b58cfd.gif

The alternator is used on many different models. The other terminal is probably a signal to the computer that your car doesn't use. As long as the connector fits, you are golden. Just tape up the end of the extra wire to avoid a short. OK?

2003 ford expedition check engine light is on. It is reading a p405 code which is the egr sensor. I have change the sensor and the pig or electrical code twice . I brought the sensor from ford.

This DTC says nothing about changing the sensor or the connector or pig tail ! It's a circuit voltage low code
P0405 - DPF EGR Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Detected See DTC P1400 Problem with wiring or PCM !
P1400 - DPF EGR Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Detected The EGR monitor checks the DPF EGR sensor signal to the PCM for low voltage. The test fails when the average voltage to the PCM drops to a voltage less than the minimum calibrated value.
  • DPFEGR circuit short to GND
  • Damaged DPF EGR sensor
  • VREF short to GND
  • Damaged PCM
A DPF EGR PID reading less than 0.2 volt with the key ON and engine OFF or running, indicates a hard fault.

How do you fix wiring for 1988 ford ranger4x4 wiring to the fuel pump

Are you wanting to wire voltage or ground circuits? Remember, you have to deal with the fuel gage sending unit circuit or the fuel gage won't work.
The basics, if single wire dedicated circuit, leave a pigtail wire, both ends, as long as the problem is between the pig-tails, run a new wire, splice into pig-tails. The new wire can lay anywhere till you do some testing to see if it's going to work.
I short-handed this post a little. I wasn't sure exactly what you have going on?
Do want a wiring diagram?

Hi I recently asked about 1993 Mitsubishi 3000ft bought it an the mass air flow sensor was disconnected an ran good enough Then would plug it in an it would idle very low stall some times an would not...

Hi Cardy.
It sounds like you need another MAF sensor. This sensor has a wire inside that is directly in the flow of air entering the sensor. At idle there's a specific amount of current passing through this wire to keep it at a certain temperature, which tells the computer the engine is idling. As you accelerate and open the throttle, the incoming air cools this wire down letting the computer know the throttle is opening further. The computer knows where the throttle is according to how much current it has to apply to this wire to keep it at a certain temperature. When this wire/sensor is dirty the computer can't accurately adjust engine speed. You can try to clean the Mass Air Flow sensor with a cleaner designed to clean those types of sensors. Check your local parts store, they should have it. Hope this helps.

Alternator not charging

I believe the regulator for that vehicle is in the PCM ,if it failed you are looking at a $$$$ part. You can use an earlier regulator and leave the control module alone.Like a 1985 diplomat ,have to get the pigtail for the regulator also, then run the 2 white wires to that instead of the PCM

What does check engine light P2138 code mean and how to fix it?

P2138 Throttle/Pedal Pos Sensor Voltage Correlation

Potential Causes of P2138 DTC It's been my experience that the wiring connector or "pig tail" on the throttle body gives problems in the form of a poor connection. The female terminals on the pigtail corrode or pull out of the connector. Possible bare wire on pigtail shorting to ground. The top cover on the throttle body distorted preventing the gears from turning properly. The electronic throttle body is faulty. The accelerator pedal sensor or its wiring failed. The engine management computer has failed. The TPS sensors were not correlating for a few seconds and the computer needs to be cycled through its relearn phase to restore active response to the throttle body, or the computer needs reprogramming at the dealer.

Hey,I have an 03 chevy s10,I recently tried putting a pig tail on it (straight wired) and had no luck, gave up and crimped all the wire back together, and today a guy at work noticed I had no taillights,but...

I would check your tail light fuse first then test the brown wire in the tail light harness where you origionally cut into it. With the lights on there should be around 12v on it. if not you may have pulled the wire too hard and broke it upstream. Test to see if there is 12v at the fuse ad if there is, your trouble should be in the wire between the fuse and the spot where you cut into it.

Trying to purchase used mercury mountaineer but shows a code of P2135what does that mean and is it expensive to fix? please advise

You may want to check with the dealer or do some internet research on the code - - the generic code means there is a problem with the throttle position switch circuit. It could be different for a Mercury product.

I'm replacing the starter on my 2002 ford focus. the new starter came equiped with an addition "pig tail" on one of the posts which is supposed to solve a "no start problem" with older...

The pigtail should be mounted to the smaller stud on the starter solenoid.

The other end should have a but connector and there should be a peice of heat shrink tubing also supplied. You will cut off the connector on the small wire that went to the spade terminal on the old starter. then crimp that wire to the new pig tail and then place the heat shrink tubing over the connection.

This will solve the problem with the spade connector corroding at the starter which causes many no crank problems with ford vehicles. Especially the older Taurus.

I need to know which wires on the new pig tail wire in the the old harniss they are different colors but they both are marked a b c d so do i match colors or do i match a b c d can you tell me or show me...

Your best bet is to go to mitchelldiy online and get the wiring diagrams. Not knowing what year your car is and what harness or computer or component your talking about and since the wiring harness may not be the correct one for your application I would be hesitant to give advice that could ruin a computer if hooked up wrong.
