2008 Toyota Tacoma-automatic. Transmission fluid was drained in error thinking it was oil outlet. Where does new transmission fluid go in? Manual does not provide this specific info.

Trans fluid goes in the same tube the transmission dipstick sticks into. You'll need a funnel with a narrow bottom opening (1/2" or less). Make sure you pour it in the transmission dipstick tube, and not the engine oil dipstick tube. ;)
Initially, try to add about 3/4 of the estimated amount that you accidentally drained, then slow fill the remainder while checking level at different stages.
Also, try not to overfill. Check fluid level often, with engine running, in park or neutral, as you re-fill it.

Where do I pour transmission fluid at

CAUTION: The engine must be running when the transmission fluid fill plug is removed, or excessive fluid loss will occur. Transmission fluid may be hot. Since the actual fluid level is unknown, stand clear when removing the fill plug. Have a container ready to capture any lost fluid. Do not turn the engine off with the fill plug removed, as you can be injured by hot transmission fluid being expelled out of the oil fill opening.

How do i drain transmission fluid and replace trans-filter 1996 chevy suburban 4x4 454

Finding where to put transmission fluid can be a bit of a challenge on some cars. In fact there are some transmissions that you can't even add fluid to.But that's not the case on your vehicle.

First confirm the level of fluid before filling it.==========For exact transmission fluid replacing/filling procedure.Go through the list of help links below:-----its having complete step by step procedure.Click the link :----

I cant check fluid in transmission no dipstick

THE 4T40 E 4T45 E AND 4T65 E THESE TRANSMISSIONS DONT HAVE A FILL TUBE WITH DIP STICK.THOSE TRANSMISSION VECHICLE HAS TO BE PUT ON A LIFT AND LEVEL. TRANSMISSION HAS A FLUID CHECK PLUG LOWER HOUSING TRANSMISSION JUST ABOVE THE OIL DRAIN PLUG.TO CHECK FLUID TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE OPERATING TEMPERATURE. WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND TRANSMISSION FLUID PLUG REMOVE IF TRANSMISSION FLUID POURS OUT. CHECK PLUG HOLE.YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TRANSMISSION FLUID IN TRANSMISSION.IF FLUID DONT DRIP OUT HOLE NEED TO ADD A PINT AT A TIME.IF FLUID DRIPS OUT SLOWLY FLUID CORRECT TO POUR TRANSMISSION IN TRANSMISSION RAISE HOOD LOOK ON TOP TRANSMISSION ON DRIVER SIDE FOR A RED VENT FILL PLUG.REMOVE PLUG USING A LONG LONG FUNNEL POUR TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE VENT FILL PLUG HOLE.THIS VECHICLE THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO CHECK FLUID USING A LIFT.YOU CAN DO THIS JOB BUT IT WILL VERY DANGEROUS YOU CAN PUT CAR ON JACK STANDS WITH VECHICLE SITTING LEVEL. BUT THE DANGER PART COMES YOU HAVE TO SLIDE UNDER THE CAR WHILE ENGINE RUNNING TO CHECK FLUID.IF YOU DO THIS JOB HAVE FRIEND OR HELPER AROUND DONT WORK UNDER CAR BY YOUR SELF ALWAYS KEEP CELLUAR PHONE ON HAND FOR EMERGENCY.

Fill tube for the transmission location

Hahaha..! Thats a funny response, but not a solution.

Assuming you're talking about the automatic transmission, there is no fill tube for your transmission. To fill the transmission, check the fluid level, or top off the fluid level, you will need a few different (non-traditional) tools. You will need some way to pump fluid up into the transmission from below due to the fill port being on the bottom of the transmission fluid pan. A bottle of transmission fluid (Dextron III) and a screw on fill tube from WalMart or Autozone can be used to fill the transmission with fluid.

Service to this transmission can be a fairly messy task. Operating temperature must be attained prior to fluid level adjustment. Once operating temperature has been achieved, two drain plugs should be located on the main transmission fluid pan. One plug is positioned vertically higher than the other. With the engine idling, remove the higher plug. When this plug is removed, fluid shouldn't flow from the hole profusely. If it does, then that's an idication that the unit is overfilled. If no fluid flows from the hole at all, then it may be an indication of a low fluid level. Use the desired devised method to pump fluid into the higher plug hole until fluid begins to leak from the plug hole. Once this occurs, then the plug must quickly be reinstalled.

It's messy and inconvenient; I know. Thank you to the General for the transmission and adventures with hot trans. fluid. Gee.., another good example of why Toyota passed ya up

How do you check the transmission fluid -wheres the dip stick

According to the manual if the transmission is leaking fluid or shifting incorrectly take it to the dealer. Other than that the service interval for filter and fluid change is 100,000 miles. There is a 7/16 plug on the transmission case you have to be under the car to see it. it is located on the backside near the right axel. You take it out and put in transmission fluid till it comes out the plug hole. The fill plug is accessed from engine compartment, you will need a long funnel to fill. It's a must take it to a Dealer for service unless you want to try to service it your self. Good luck friend.
Here is how you add fluid:Start the engine and allow the engine to idle until the transmission fluid temperature has reached the value specified.
Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the gear ranges, pausing a few seconds in each range. Return the shift lever to the PARK range. Remove the fluid vent cap.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist. The vehicle must be level, with the engine running and the shift lever in the PARK range.

Remove the transmission oil level control plug.147643_trans_1.jpg this trans only has a fluid vent cap that you can unscrew to add fluid.

I cant find the transmission fluid dip stick or where to fill it

The manual transmission does not have a dipstick. The fluid level is determined by a fill plug in the side of the tranny. If the fluid is up to the level of the fill hole, then it is full.
