Question about 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2003 jeep cherokee laredo still sputters and dies!

I have posted several issues with my 2003 jeep cherokee laredo on here and still 3 mechanics and still are stumped on this one, last mechanic checked all wiring and cleaned everything, new crank sensor, new filters in fuel pump (?) and a new fuel filter he does not seem to think that it is the PCM itself but can not locate the problem. Drove great for like 45 min and then when pulling back in to shop it dies. I am stumped and not sure what else to do or advise them to do.

everything the whole thing just like loses all communication but then it will start right back up! Not sure that anyone has checked the fuel rail pressure but will mention this to the mechanic where it is right now.

Just trying get a handle on what all these parts control here so my mechanic doesn't look at me weird, beings I am a woman and he wants my car in a

Also; a bad ignition switch can do the same thing.

When it dies, what is missing, fuel or spark? You mentioned fuel filters...has anyone checked fuel rail pressure (when it's not starting).

It could do that with a bad switch if it was making poor contact before it disconnects, but that really sounds a lot like the fuel pump is going bad...they overheat and start to bind up, then stop...once cooled down they work just fine till it again gets hot enough to do the same thing all over again. I really hate doing this online because in real life, I'd be doing tons of testing instead of making "educated guesses"

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6 4.0 It has been dying on me without warning. I'll be driving and the next thing I know I'm coasting no engine very hard to steer. It may start back up...

Looked up part at autozone it's about 34.00...the sensor is on top of the bell housing a little hard to get to but can be done....$300 is a little steep in my opinion

What is the firing order for a grand cherokee laredo. I change the distributor for sgrand cherokee laredo jeep. I lined up tdc, had the rotor turned to number 1, but it is still missing.

You didn't post your engine size so please choose the apprpriate diagram:

Engine dies numerous times a day.

Have you thought about it possibly being the engine that has something wrong with it? Have you checked the cylinders?

2003 jeep cherokee laredo- loses rpms and speed and sputters and will kick back in and does this just sporadically. Started on the Hwy the other and now doing it in town.

Sounds like contaminated fuel or bad pump/filter. Now, just because I said that it's probably the crank sensor...Bottom line is do some testing. Or have someone test it. Begin with code scan...even if it shows nothing, that eliminates a bunch of stuff.
