Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
First thing you need to do is to remove the inner door panel so you can see exactly what has happened inside. To do this, find any visible screws and remove them Usually in arm rest and the handle cover, sometimes some are hidden. The perimeter is snapped into place with small plastic "trees" that most times can be pulled out or pried out with a screwdriver (they also make a tool for this). Once panel is free, push in and up at top to disengage from edge of window lip,
You can get an inexpensive manual like haynes to guide you through this. If you can't find one, your best reference is the opposite side door...Open that one up and you can see what it looks like when it's working. Once youi can see what failed, then you can get what you need to make the repair. Scrapyards are a good inexpensive source for parts but with door components generally they will not take parts from doors that are "clean", as they generally sell those as complete replacements. Be careful working inside doors the metal edges inside are sharp.
PS your post made me laugh...I see that you are a woman, but I doubt if you need fixing...only your Jeep does, and that is fixable!!!
