Voltage gage in truck reads high engine light comes on some times

I need to know if the other gauges are accurate. There is a voltage regulator mounted on the back side of the dash that can go bad and often does, that will make the other gauges inaccurate also.

Wow you have replaced a lot of stuff. Lets go back to the Fuel pump. When you replaced it did you replace the hose between the pump and the sending unit. These are common for splitting. Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to check what pressure you have? It should be real close to 13 psi and should raise to at least 18 or 19 when you pinch off the return line.

Did you check the fuses? Are your cables to the battery corroded? Is your ground wire connection clean . Did you get a cheap-*** alternator? Did they check it where you bought it? You may have to have it checked at a napa or other store. Sometimes "reconditioned" means "repainted"
Hey, I've been there. If its a discount store alternator get another place to check it. May save you some grief.
