I need to replace the bearing on my Pronton Gen 2's fanbelt Tensioner. Is it possible to replace the bearings only or must the entire tensioner be replaced. If the bearings only can be replaced I also need the specs on the bearings Thanx

The bearings are not serviced, just the whole unit, but if you remove them a bearing supply can match them up.

1995 Chrysler 3.5 liter timing issue-what indicates the belt tensioner needs replacement?

The timing belt is supposed to last 105,000 miles (I have the same engine in my car and own a factory service manual), remember that a tensioner is set to the proper tension when a new belt is installed and that setting is locked, it does not tension the belt as it wears and stretches, therefore a belt will loosen with time, as tension setting is a one time deal, i.e. when the new belt is installed, don't mean to repeat but I want you to understand this about the function of the tensioer. There is no pre-determined mileage to replace a belt tensioner, the only time that becomes an issue is when the bearing in the pulley fails or the tensioner is otherwise damaged.

New fan belt and the car is making a loud squealing noise

Either the water pump is bad or the power steering pump or the tensioner or maybe the tension on the belt is insufficient. If you have air conditioning, the bearing could be bad in that but that's a bit remote.

How do I replace the engine drive belt tensioner bearing on a 2007 Holden Commodore V6?

These pulleys can be bought complete with new bearing as an assembly from any bearing shop. Replacing the bearing is not always successful or cheap.

Belt tensioner replacement

try applying some belt dressing on it and if that does not fix it you may need to replace the tensioner because the bearing in it could be becoming bad.hope this helps. also try spraying some w d 40 on the tensioner around were it bolts up and try to get it no the bearing in the tensioner to see if that stops it.could be dry of grease or could be just worn and loose causing the noise. hope this helps thanks

I need to fit a fanbelt tensioner on my citreon berlingo 1.9d forte 2002 model

Are you replacing the whole tensioner or just the wheel and bearing? If the bearing is just the problem it is just bolted on. You can buy the wheel only at the dealer or on line here.

What is a tensioner & how often do they break?

Tensioners are a sort of pulley that spins on a bearing that puts pressure/tension on a belt. Tensioners are recommended to be replaced about 50-60 K miles when doing routine belt service like a timing belt or serpentine belt. If they are not replaced the bearings can wear out and lock the tensioner and possibly break it.

Bearing on the tensioner pulley squeels.

basically you need a special tool to release the tension on the belt then remove the belt then it should be easy to remove the bearing and replace...better to use a mechanic with the proper tools
