How to change air filter on a 2002 jetta tdi

Air filter changement for 2002 VW Jetta 1.9 TDI:
1. Unplug MAF Connector.
2. Unscrew two Air Filter Housing screws - Phillips driver.
3. Screws do not come out fully. They remain loose in the Housing.
4. Remove Air Filter Housing. Lift up/towards. Rest on battery cover.
5. Remove old Air Filter.
6. Clean Filter Housing. Damp cloth.
7. Check upper half of cover too.
8. Insert new Air Filter. Ensure the edges are seated.
9. Reposition Filter Housing. Clips on leading edge down/in first.
10. Two screws (don't overtighten).
11. Reconnect MAF plug.

I have a 1996 VW Jetta, odomoter and speedometer

Either you have a broken wire some where from the speed sensor to the cluster or you have connector at fault, the one which hookup the dash cluster to the main wire bundel. Check the connector, maybe a pushed back pin !!

I THINK ITS THE FUEL PUMP.

It is the fuel pump, or either a MAP, or MAF sensor. If the check engine light is not on, put a fuel pressure gauge on it, and see if it drops under a load. If so, bad pump.

P103 code in a 98 VW Jetta, 2.0 liter

THAT LEAK IS UN-METERED AIR ENTERING THE ENGINE, FIX IT AND RETEST SYSTEM. P103 IS A MAF CODE. A MAF MEASURES THE AIR ENTERING THE ENGINE, AND BASED THAT AND ON OTHER DATA THE PCM DECIDES THE AMOUNT OF FUEL TO INJECT.
