If light pressure on your clutch pedal causes it to fall or easily be pushed to the floor and you cannot feel a normal point in which the clutch should engage it is quite possibly the slave cylinder. Most mechanic shops will tell you to replace the clutch and while doing the service they will replace the slave cylinder. Do you see or smell any brake fluid leaking? Brake fluid is used in the clutch hydraulic system. So if your brake fluid is low or you can see it leaking or smell it burning this would Point towards slave cylinder. There are other ways to check if your slave cylinder is working appropriately by looking under the vehicle having the clutch pedal pushed and seeing if the cylinder is engaging the transmission and then feeling for resistance.

SOURCE: i can't change gears and

Hi there i have had quite a few of these, just check the clutch master cylinder fluid you might find it is very dirty and may be causing the hydraulics to stick. Either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder may be sticking.

SOURCE: Low / Soft Clutch Pedal, 1995 Rodeo 2W 2.6L

my rodeo had the same problem i corrected it by bleeding the slave cylinder. and is located on the driver side on the gearbox you will find it if you follow the line from the master cylinder down to the gearbox and if that helps but happens again it might have to be replaced.

Nissan almera loose clutch pedal

It sounds like the hydraulic clutch is failing or the car just has a light clutch feel. I suggest you have a local shop push the clutch and see what they think.

Clutch pedal goes down , but does not seem to release far enough to change gears, im thinking it has something to do with the line that goes from pedal to ******, that part on ****** does not seem tig

i dont see what car you have, but most clutches are hydraulic these days. under the hood on the firewall there should be a small fluid cylinder called a clutch slave cylinder. it should be full of brake fluid. when it leaks, the pedal feels strange and it will not release the clutch. usually when the fluid leaks it it due to a failed slave cylinder on the transmission.

The clutch pedal seems to be very flopy and is not going into gear easily

Can be broken spring on the cluch pedal in side the car, that hold the pedal all the way back for full amount of brake fluid to the slave cylender, can be checked by pulling the pedal all the way up before steping it to the floor and putting in to gear or just look up under the daschbord on the pedal. Can allso be to little brake fluid in container. To check the master cylender rubber, step on the pedal putt in gear with engine running and wait with pedal all the way to the floor, if the rubber is gone the car wil start to go after some time (1/2-1 min or less) To check the slave cylender rubber will be dune the same way and working same way but it will be leaking out and on the floor.

How do you bleed the clutch on a 1995 dodge stratus

Sounds like the slave cylinder inside bell housing is leaking. Replace both cylinders when fixing. the clutch plate and flywheel should be inspected for wear.

Clutch pedal sticking

The clutch pressure plate might be weak in the manual transmission.

I wouldn't worry if it doesn't cause a problem in changing gears, until you have the clutch changed, if you ever get that far.

1983 chevy s10 2.8 v6. underneath my clutch pedal is a gear with teeth on it. when i press the clutch pedal it does seem to engage the clutch and i hear a ratcheting noise. any idea?

Have you got a hole in the floorboards????
It could be something loose in the clutch or just something ricochetting around the bell housing.
