Radio display comes on but no sound. Battery drained. Put new one in. Want to try reprogram radio but can't find instructions.

Idid see a service bulletin concerning radio. sound and display lost after engine crank. turn key off, then back to accessory position, radio functions work. the fix is to reprogram radio with new software. I also saw several codes listed for radio, they were manufacturer specific codes. did you check for codes?

It could be. A couple of ways to check: either take the negative battery off overnight or for 18 hours, and see if battery does not go flat-then you know you have a drain somewhere. Or you could remove all power to the radio overnight (by pulling radio fuses or unplugging the radio), then see if the battery has drained any.

you have 1 of 2 choices ... anytime you take out the factory radio it activates the anti theft and car will not start choice 1 is put back in factory radio .. 2 is you will have to take it to a dealer to reprogram the radio to the anti theft modual the newer cars with antitheft will not start without it being reprogrammed by a dealer when taking out and exchanging radio

If the radio lights up. Reprogram radio due to power failure. Should find instructions in owners manual if it is a factory radio. Otherwise look on line for reprogram instructions.

did you hook the cables up backwards (ground to positive) as this could short out your electronics. are there any other electronic issues. if you didnt and everything else is ok you radio may have an anti-theft program. you can try disconnecting the ground connection to the battery for about 30 secs and reconnecting it. if it still doesnt work look in your owners manual how to reset the computer also check your fuses.. if all fails you may need to get the radio reprogrammed good luck

both,the battery has been run down too many times and your radio have a heavy power draw,if you have an aftermarket alarm it may have something to do with the problem.

if you tried to get some one to boost ur car you probably fried your radio,clock, and dvd..if not check your master fuse.

Sounds like you may need to hit the dealership on that issue. Call them and talk to parts and let them know what you have done already.
