SOURCE: replacing bad camshaft position sensor

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, then the serpentine belt and water pump pulley.
  3. Disconnect sensor wiring connector and remove sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Twist and pull sensor to remove.
Reverse procedure to install and prior to installing new sensor, lubricate sensor O-ring.

It is located under the water pump. Make sure when you remove the sensor that you rotate the crank shaft and look in the hole to make sure the pick up magnet is still in there. Sometimes they come loose and cause a no start or long crank. You will need to have the code cleared still.

replace it. there is a connection or a short in the sensor that's throwing the code. Get your Saab parts at Carquest Auto Parts, They have a WORLDPAC division for all hard to find(and easy) parts. trust me, you will save a fortune on Saab, Mercedes, Volvo and other high end parts.

My bmw 328 I 2008 won't startno power

Your vehicle is now 5 years old so there is a really good possibility that the battery needs replacing. Try charging it and make sure the terminals and connections are nice and clean. If it won't hold a charge it's time to replace it.

How can I reset the crankshaft position sensor on BMW 328i 2008

If you have replaced it and it is working correctly, you can just erase the code or wait for it to shut off once you have driven it for a few miles. if you erased / reset it and it comes back, there is still a fault.

Code p0335 crankshaft 2008 BMW why code 2a94 & long cracking?

Ok! Both codes have to do with the Crankshaft position sensor. The P0335 means that you should replace the sensor, the 2a94 tells the pcm what code to display for the problem. Here is somthing you can do to make sure the sensor is really bad: If you unplug (or lose power to) your PROcede while the car is running. Or tried starting it while it wasn't plugged in fully, you will throw that code. Just clear it and see if it comes back. If it reoccurs while the car is driving, then you might have a bad Crankshaft position sensor.

P0340 fault code

Assuming you have a 1996 328i convertible based on your photo as there were no US 96 328is.
It is located at the left front end of the the engine cylinder head under the plastic cover behind the VANOS solenoid next to the top of the oil filter housing. In addition to the new sensor, you will need new metal o-rings for the VANOS line, a new rubber o-ring for the camshaft sensor and perhaps a new socket head cap screw if you round out the internal hex trying to loosen this Loctited screw.
