Use a 10w 40 sounds like due to the heat your engine oil is to runny. Nothing to worry about .

Ticking sound engine

Sounds like you need to have your valves checked and adjusted. Do it sooner rather than later. This can eventually cause serious damage to the engine if not taken care of.

1998 4runner(limited)148k miles.left rear tire locks up,then rolls????parking break is not engaged,

if its rear drum brakes, you probably have a sticking wheel cylinder. or a brake adjuster that's adjusted too tight. If its four wheel disc brakes it's probably the emergency brake cable/ tension mechanism not releasing.

How can i tell if I have a 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder for a 2000 Limited 4 Runner

You can tell by the number of spark plugs or there is probably a sticker somewhere that tells you. If you have 4 spark plugs then you have a 4 cylinder and if you have 6 spark plugs then you have a 6 cylinder

So I hadn't changed the oil on my 95 Toyota 4Runner for a while and randomly today I started hearing a very distinct rattling sound coming from the area right behind the throttle. The sound gets worse...

I would change your oil and filter ASAP and hopefully that sound goes away. If you are hearing the ticking around the throttle, chances are it is the lifters getting dry and that is why it's ticking. Do your oil change RIGHT AWAY and then stay current or you motor will be toast if it isn't already.

Good Luck

1990 4runner V6 3.0L Manual. Loss of power on any incline, hesitates(jumps) when slowing down or speeding up from a low rpm and makes a weird squirrely ticking sound when me?!?!!

Do a major tune-up on the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. The ticking very well could be from using a poor grade of gasoline, however, not necessarily the octane. This is also known as pinging or knocking. The tune-up may help this as well. Try a quality grade of gas, Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Texaco, Mobile etc....

Ticking noise, grinding noise when turning, front wheel looks off

For the occasionally turning sound:
Sounds to me like you may want to check your CV boots for cracks. If water and other debris has got up into the boot then it could have damaged your cv joint which is a swivel joint to allow turning on front wheel cars. The boot is right at the point where your axle meets the wheel assembly.

The second problem with the transmission: with that kind of miles on the car, you may want to change the transmission fluid and filter and then add a container of TransX, used for older transmissions. Then see what happens. The TransX additive helps with seals and such... or you could just add the TransX to your transmission while its warm , drive it about 100 miles and hopefully see the effects.
