Should be next to steering column. You have to get crawl into the footwell to find it. Same on all Euro spec cars.

This happened to my Avenger too. The issue for me, was, my spark plugs were loose or bad. The plugs were replaced and it ran like the issue never happened. It happened just as you say though, I had gotten gas and that's when it started. I hope it's as simple for you as it was for me!

Help needed on gmc envoy!!!!!!!? hello my friends gmc envoy was not starting i went to diagnose trouble codes i saw the engine check light on when i attached the device i didnt read any codes from the ecu...

Arrows pointing down is low coolant. If you can't read the code because it displays, "communication error", you have a blown fuse. Your ALDL may be tied in with the auxiliary plug. Look for a blown fuse and replace it.

180,000 miles & check engine light is on. Already had vehicle checked.

the check engine light comes on whenever one or more of about 200 faults occur in the electronic engine or emmision controls, the only way to determine which system is causeing the problem is to have the system computer tested for the trouble code(s) that is stored when the light is turned on by the computer, which is known as the PCM

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LAST NIGHT AND I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY, I WENT TO CHECK THE SPARK PLUGS AND I CANT FIND THEM

ok dizzydean, u need to have the engine codes read. Most parts stores will do this for free, and will explain what could be wrong. They will plug a scan tool into a plug under your dash to read codes stored in the cars computer.

Check Engine Light

Your car is OBD I. The plug is under the hood near the shock tower. On some of the Ford products, the plug is on the driver's side and on some are located on the pass. side. It should have a rectangular plug that says "test" on it.
