Question about 1990 Dodge Dynasty

1 Answer

I have a AC condensation blockage in my 1990 Dodge Dynasty

I have a 1990 Dodge Dynasty in very good condition with 40,500 miles. 1). Around 38,000 miles the condensation line to my Air conditioning became blocked; I notice this because water is running from underneath the dashboard on passenger side of the car when the AC is turned on.
2). I also notice around the same time that the controls that regulate the direction of air flow to the vents weren't working properly.
Can you tell me how to repair my two problems? I thank you in advance for your help.

The water problem is caused by a blocked drain hose. If you get under the car you should see a line or hose coming through the firewall or front floorboard. It is plugged up with insects or road debris. Use a coat hanger or pen and dig in it for about a foot til it clears.
The second problem was caused by the first, water is not good in the ductwork. Most likely a door "motor" is shorted or disconnected. When you get the water out you may have a 10% chance of the other problem clearing up. Good Luck Sometimes a trip to the Salvage yard is an excellent education for location of parts. Also cars work with used parts.

I have a 1990 Dodge Dynasty 3.3L V6. My speedometer stop working so did my trip miles, can anyone please help. I'm mechanically incline I just dont have the time to figure it out can someone point me to...

if it has a 413 trans the speed sensor is right where the passenger axle goes in. If you do not see one there it has a 604 trans and the output sensor is on the front up towords the radiator you will see two round sensors the one you need to change is the one closer to the driver side.

Air conditioning uses R-12 or R-134.

Look under the hood of the car. In the center near the latch there will be a sticker that tells you which it is. My 1992 dynasty uses 34oz of R-12.

I have a 1990 dodge dynasty with an a/c drain line blockage.

Should be on the right lower side of the firewall. Most cars have a black ribber elbow on them. Take a wire coat hanger and just insert a couple of inches in the tube, not to far to wher you poke the evap.

1990 Dodge Dynasty, has severe problems with the pulleys. Belt continues to slip off of the pulleys. Why does this little car have 5 pulleys and they don't do the same thing???

make sure, with the belt off, that all the pully spin VERY freely. sounds like a component with a pully is locked up. good luck.

Adding AC to my 1990 Dodge D150

good evening and welcome to fixya
adding ac to your dodge is kind of complicated. are you going to be doing the job or are you contracting it out? there are a few ways to go about doing this: one is you can hunt down another d150 that came from the factory with a/c and use all the parts from it. the second is you can look at purchasing an aftermarket all in one ac unit, sometimes you must do a bit of modifications to install this unit. the third is the most expensive but all new, you can go to your local chrysler dealer and ask for the schematic of the ac system for your vehicle and tell them what you want to do and they will give you a parts list, this list will include a new radiator to accomadate the a/c condenser. the major parts you will need are the condenser, switch panel, compressor and all brackets to hook up the compressor, the ac box under the dash the has the evap coil in it, you will need a set of lines and accumulator, pressure switchs high and low, expansion block, freeze switch, and possibly you will have to change the pulley setup on the front of the engine to accomdate the new belt for the compressor. this is a good starting point of the items that are required. hope this helps good luck to you.

please rate this solution??
