Give the 'Lucas Transmission fix' a go. It seems expensive for the 'bottle capacity'.
But as long as the box isn't totalled, or if it's just plain 'old', it could very well be, worth it.
It's actually GAURANTEED to work.
I used it one time, in on of my '3rd gen' Honda preludes.
It was the 2 lt 16v Auto 4ws with the 'face lift' etc.
I bought the car for less than 100 bucks, and the milo' didn't work either.
I used that baby for Months and Months thanks to that stuff!)
Follow the instructions & Give it a blast.
Good luck with that, and please don't forget to rate:)

Just bought a 1997 Ford taurus The transmission once hot (up to temp) loses overdrive an drive 1st an reverse are strong , What could the issue be with it a module, Filter, Lines ???

If you put in 6 quarts of trans fluid the trans and tourque converter must have been bone dry.
By the way trans temp and engine are usually the same or close.
The heat is from friction, the friction is from the clutches slipping.
You need a new trans,

Drain fluid into a clean plastic bowl, check for brass cuttings or metal shavings in sunlight. If present get complete trans overhaul.

87 cutlass no reverse

In older gm vehicles in there automatic transmissions there are indirect clutch bands/gears which operate low and reverse gears. I'd first check your fluid level while it is in park, and the vehicle is running and has reached its normal operating temp. If it's low fill it in small increments and recheck until it is full DO NOT OVERFILL IT or it will break down very quickly. An old remedy for small leaks or tranny starting to slip is to add a little dot 3 brake fluid to help seals expand and to increase viscosity in trans fluid. This is a band aid you would need to rebuild or get a rebuilt trans eventually though

1993 TOYOTA PICKUP (V6) TEMPERATURE PROBLEM

the trans will not allow overdrive until coolant reaches roughly 180 degrees, if the guage shows cool and the trans is not upshifting, or downshifts to third while driving. the problem is either a sticking (or missing) thermostat. follow the lower radiator hose to the engine and find the three 12mm nuts, remove these to get to it. a new toyota t-stat will have a little bleed valve on its face. position it upwards when installing. hope this is helpful.
P.S. Happy New Year

Transmission

Verify tranny fluid when engine has reached normal operating temperature. U know when u reach that temp when the coolant fans start.
Centuries have a weakness on the 2nd gear valve, but that doesn't seem to be ur case.
Check that and get back to me.
