Revving high - throttle stuck?

The car is revving high - no need to put foot on gas - sounds like it is going to blow up - replaced the TPS , took apart the linkages and cleaned but still the problem is there

Side of the throttle body, long round device about the size of a tube of tooth paste with a 2 wire connector to it.

you have a vacuum leak on the engine, a big one, that is the only thing that will hold the idle up high, get a can of carb spray from the parts store and spray the top of the intake and see if you find a leak, u will here the engine idle change if you hit the leak, I also have seen a few warped throttle bores on the 3.8, this allows air to pass around the throttle valve and causes a very high idle

When starting my 95 toyota pasao it is revving really high is the throttle stuck

Could be a number of things. Yes, check throttle opening, possibly the Throttle cable is damaged due to salt corrosion and holding it open. Or possibly lack of corrosion. Could also be bad Throttle position sensor or it's equivalent or corrosion on its connectors. If you can get it under control have the Ecu codes read by local auto parts store.

My battery was replaced on 2001 jimmy died while driving and it wasn't the alternator but now it dies when I take my foot off the gas pedal

sounds to me like you should be looking at fuel system ,fuel pump, pluged fuel filter or possibly a bad tps (throttle position sensor) it doesnt sound like it has anything to do with charging system

Chevy Malibu 2001 with 89,000 miles idling too high during park

Back to the mechanic - sounds like either an IAC motor or TPS sensor is the problem, but also could be the throttle cable (sticking leaving the throttle not fully closed).

I have a revving sound on the engine when I shift gears. The rpms are not high so I am baffled. This is a ford f-150 6 cylinder 4.2l , man trans. It idles normal

Sounds like you may need to replace the TPS (throttle position sensor), that will cause the idle not to fall in between shifts.

throttle position sensor stuck on open throttle?

You should be able to get the computer codes checked and see if the TPS is stuck.
