For the 2008 Ford Explorer ONLY (SUV). Look under the steering wheel. There is a black fuse box near emergency brake pedal. You will need a flashlight and a dental mirror (very tight space. Look between the lower lid of the box on the slim space to the left side. Take your time, you will see a bar code and 5 above it...That's it! I found mine that way. If you are laying on your back looking up, it's the gap above your right shoulder.GOOD LUCK!

2003 Ford Explorer 4 x 4. How do I get code for door keyless entry keypad on it please?

The previous owner can tell you.
The dealership can tell you the original code based on the VIN Number.
Or you can do to an auto electrician, or an auto locksmith to reprogram it.

Where is the keyless code located in my 2007 Mercury mountaineer

Open the right/rear door. Fold the right/rear seat down. Carefully pull the trim panel where the right/rear seat belt pivot/height adjuster is housed. Once removed, pull the trim panel below that in order to expose the Vehicle Security Module (the module that controls the electronic locking system for your vehicle) that has the three electrical connectors plugged into it. The connectors are colored green, grey, and blue. On the module there is a label with the engineering number similar to 5L2T-15K602-EA. You will also see FIVE large numbers. Those FIVE large numbers are your Keyless entry keypad code. Once you know your keypad code, you can test its operation by first entering the FIVE digit keypad code to unlock the driver door, and then pressing the 3/4 button within 5 seconds to unlock ALL doors. Pressing the 5/6 button within 5 seconds after entering the code will unlock the liftgate glass. Pressing the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously at any time will lock ALL doors. Hope this helps.

I got a 2000 Ford Explore that I got about 5 months ago. I don't know the codes on the door to unlock it. how can I get the codes or reset it.

You will need the original factory programmed keyless entry keypad code to program your own code. To locate the original keypad code, open the right/rear door. Pull the on-body rubber weatherstrip out, around the rear side of the door closure. Fold the right/rear seat back down into the locked position to facilitate access to the right/rear seat belt anchor. Carefully pry the upper plastic panel that houses the height adjuster and seat belt anchor off the body taking care not to damage the panel. Now pry the lower panel outward just far enough to enable access to the Vehicle Security Module, where you'll see three electrical connectors plugged into it, colored green, gray, and blue. On the module will be a series of digits on a label similar to 2L2T-15K602-EA. Beside those digits are five numbers. Those five numbers are the key-less entry keypad code. Once the original keypad code has been obtained, you will need to enter it, press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to activate the programming mode. Holding the 1/2 button for more than 2 seconds after activation will erase the the code you programmed. The existing code will not need to be erased to program a new code. Within 5 seconds, enter the new 5-digit keypad code. The door locks will lock and unlock to confirm the new code is programmed. Hope this helps Tim

HOW TO FIND AND PROGRAM A KEYLESS ENTRY

Keyless Entry Keypad FAQ Ford Explorer
The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5-digit entry code
You can use the keyless entry keypad to
  • Lock or unlock the doors without using a key.
  • Open the liftgate window.
  • Activate or deactivate the autolock feature.

Where the code can be found
  • This code is located on the owner's wallet card in the glove box
  • Is available from your authorized dealer via scan code
  • Is marked on the computer module

Computer Module location
  • 1995 thru 2001 is located in the jack storage compartment in the rear of your Explorer. First remove the panel to the jack storage compartment. Towards the front of this area you should see a metal box this is your auto-lock module(way up front next to your rear left passenger seat). On the back side of this is your 5 digit code factory preset code. It is hard to get to. To see it you will have to loosen, pull, use a flashlight or a mirror but it can be done.

  • 2002 thru 2007 is in the right panel behind the middle row window. It is below the seat belt mechanism. You have to pull out the top plastic panel off, then loosen the lower panel to be able to see the face of the computer module. The code is on a sticker on the face of the module.

Programming a personal entry code The factory set code cannot be reprogrammed but you can create your own 5?digit personal entry code. When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation.
Up to three personal entry codes may be programmed to the vehicle. To create your own personal entry code:

  • 1. Enter the factory set code.
  • 2. Within five seconds press the 1 ? 2 on the keypad.
  • 3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other.
  • 4. Press 1 ? 2, 3 ? 4 or 5 ? 6 to indicate which of the three personal entry code positions you wish to use.
  • 5. The doors will again lock then unlock to confirm that your personal key code has been programmed to the module.

Reset Door Code 2010 F250

Location of Keyless Code on Computer Module of Ford F250 Superduty ( 2009 )

Finding this code seems to be a common problem, so, here is a better answer to save you the time I spent locating the sticker on the computer module that shows the keyless entry code.

One owners from 2008 F150 XLT Superduty tell me and I suspect the location for a F150 would be very near same location as on a F250

The computer module is mounted high on the firewall approximately behind the a/c fan speed control knob. Here is how to find it / get to it:

1. Remove the large cover under the steering column that covers the fuse block. You'll need to reach in under the dash, with your left arm, to the right of the steering column and left of center to move stuff to get a clear view.

2. Open the storage pocket door on the lower edge of the dash (right of the steering column) and squeeze the back side of the storage pocket to allow the stops to pass to the front. This will allow the opening to be clear to see the computer module up in the dash. Shine your flash light through this opening.

3. Move the first piece of white insulation to the side to see the firewall. Look up through the pocket door, moving the wiring harnesses aside if necessary. You'll find a second white insulation wrapped snugly across the computer module. When you push the insulation up to see the flat surface, you see the 5 digit number printed up-side-down in black on a white sticker. This is your keyless entry code.

Instructions for Programming Keyless Entry Code (from the 2008 Owner's Manual)

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
You can use the keyless entry keypad to lock or unlock the doors without using a key.

The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5–digit entry code; this code is located on the owner’s wallet card in the glove box, is marked on the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You can also create your own 5–digit personal entry code.

When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation.

Programming a personal entry code
To create your own personal entry code:
1. Enter the factory set code. The driver door will unlock.

2. Within five seconds press the 1 • 2 on the keypad.

3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other.

4. The doors will lock then unlock to confirm that your personal keycode has been programmed into the module.

Tips:
• Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
• Do not use five numbers in sequential order.

Good Luck (remember comment and rated this).

How to find the Security Keyless Keypad Code on the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or Mountaineer and how to use the Keypad functions. The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located in the left rear quarter behind the removable panel (see photo). You will need to turn the two thumb screws counter clockwise and take the plastic panel off to be able to see the unit. A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the 5 digit code on it like the one shown below.

Carefully, pry the right/rear upper trim panel housing the right/rear seat belt height adjuster. Now carefully pry back the lower trim panel taking care now to break it, exposing the vehicle security module with three connectors plugged into it, coloured green, blue, and grey. Look on the label that has the part number which should end in EB. There are FIVE numbers to the right of that number. Those five numbers are your keyless entry keypad code.
