Engine miss fires on no1 & no4 cylinders under load


You didn't mention what kind of car you have or the engine size, but if it is a GM 4 cylinder engine, the #1 and #4 plugs are fired by the same coil. I would suspect a coil as the problem.

What is the cylinder, engine size of a 2005 malibu


2005 Malibu came with two size engine's.

4 cylinder engine size 2.2L

or

V-6, 6 cylinder's engine size 3.5L

Also look under the hood for a white label, will tell you what size engine, one of the two 2.2L or 3.5L.

Plugs are one of three sizes;

In order of popularity they are 5/8, 13/16 or 3/4.

Bad coil...you didn't list your motor size so it is either ignition module or coil.
