Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Broken plastic rod retainer clip

All I want to buy is the clip that holds the acuater rod to the handle. Not the entire handle for $40 at the Chevy gargage as some nitwit suggested. (Duh! Chevy parts at Chevy garage???) Good thing he answered up. I need a 5 cent clip not a $40 handle. "Usable" help with this would be appreciated.

How do I remove the external door handles of a Holden Astra AH 2007?

There are two studs on the backside of the outer handle, where it mounts on the door. They stick through holes in the door, and a nut on the inside holds it fast to the door.
First, or next, you have to release the plastic retainer clips on the rod(s) to the handle. Push the retainer clip off and away from the rod, and the rod should come out of the hole in the handle . Then you can remove the handle from the door.

Door handle on my 2000 Buick Park Ave wont open the door, the door will open from the inside, is a part on the handle broken

Either the linkage fell (broke) off, or the handle itself broke. Most handles are only plastic afterall. You can buy new outside handles for fairly cheap ($20 or so). Installing them can be easy or tough depending on the vehicle - soem give you room, some do not. But the job is very straight forward - start by taking off to inside panel. Locate the (should be two) bolts/nuts that hold the handle in place. Take off the lock (held in by retainer clip) and the linkage (metal rod with plastic retainer clip). like I said, pretty straight forward. (make sure the window is all the way up before you start).

The outside door handle operates fine, but the door will not open from the inside using the inside door handle. I am looking for how to remove the door panel, and then fix or replace a part so the interior...

Start by locating the screws in the door panel, usually around the the door handle itself. there may be some on the bottom, look to see. The rest of the door panel is held on by either plastic or metal push in clips, you may have to buy a door panel tool or use a 3" to 4" wide putty knife to ease otu the clips with. Once the door panel is removed, you probably find out that you'll need a plastic retainer clip to go back in place of the one broken, you can get these clips in the help section at Auto Zone, most GM cars have the same styles, just match the correct year model and vehicle type. remove any broken pieces from rod and replace new clip and install the rod in place simultaneously, usually slide the rod and clip together while twistng into the other rod's hole. re-install the door panel with the plastic factory sheet for noise and good luck.

Is there a piece that connects the door handle to the mechanism that opens the rear door on the 93 chevy suburban? our handle moves freely without opening the door

There is a rod that goes from handle to the latch. They are held in by plastic pieces that can come off. If you can somehow get the door open, you can remove the screws and pry off the door panel so you can get a better look

The rear door of my f150 does not open. the handles seem to be working but the door does not unlatch.

My bet is the plastic retaining clip which holds the rod to the latch has broken or become disconnected. That is by far the most common reason for your problem.

I am trying to fix a door handle that will not open from outside

Turn the window handle to where you can see a small 1/2" slot rt at its base where it meets the'll notice a small brass v shaped clip, you'll need hooked pick or something simular to hook this clip and pull it out of its slot, this release's window crank handle. Once this is off the rest of panel is held on by plastic panel clips that pull loose by pulling panel outwards from door ,and also by a few various screws. once panel is off temp. slide window crank back on and crank window all the way up. You then should have clear view of outer door handle. Handle has two rods attached to it,one for lock assy., one for latch release. This is the one you'll be looking at.Most likely you will find rod has came loose due to broken retainer clip at handle,or casting on handle itself has broken off.If clip is broke you can buy new clip at dealer or at some autoparts outlets, replace and reattach rod(make sure rod locks into place). If handle casting is broke will need handle replaced. It is held in place by two 10mm bolts, two rods preeviously mentioned. If handle is body color matched will need color code(on door jam sticker)to order handle from dealer to match.Lock assy will need to be transfered to new handle,it is held in by two spring clips. You notice two holes one on each side of lock, you will need to push release clips inwards through each hole to release lock and slide it install just push down into newhandlle until clips engage. Let me know if you run into problems. Good luck and if this was able to help you please leave me some positive feedback. Thanks and good luck, Joel

Door lock assembly broken, rod assembly fell apart

There is a cheap plastic retainer on the end of the rod that holds it to the handle. Get a Wheel color from a RC airplane hobby shop and use it to hold the rod on the handle. Works better than the original clip. You don't need to take the door apart for this, you can usually reach the rod after removing the interior latch handle.
