03 Grand Cherokee Cooling Fan Non-OP Replaced Relay

I have an 03 Grand Cherokee. The cooling fan stopped working. Took it to a shop they said it was the Fan Relay. When I went to change it I noticed it had already been replaced before (3x3 whole cut out behind headlight). Put the new one in....fan still doesn't work.

I have checked the connections to make sure they were clean.

What else could it be?

Sounds like the Cooling fan motor may be seizing up when it gets hot causing the relay to fail, try replacing the fan motor & relay.

Fan relay is located under pass headlight. Remove light assembly, use 2 1/2 " hole saw to drill hole in plastic housing ,3"from back wall, 3'' from left side. This will put you right over relay. Unscrew two bolts, replace. Relay was $40.... dealer wanted$350 to remove front bumper to replace it.

ELECTRIC Cooling Fans are Controled By

UNPLUG the Cooling Fan PLUG @ FAN Itself
Use DIRECT CURRENT AT the FAN PLUG<< +POS & --NEG FROM BATTERY ONE BRIGHT COLORED WIRE at FAN PLUG is +POS. the Other is --Neg If the Fan COMES ON then your Problem IS BEFORE the FAN @ ONE of the 3 OTHER COMPONENTS ABOVE

2003 grand cherokee cooling fan not coming on , replaced thermostat. How do I determine if it's the fan relay?

the fan relay is very hard to get to! it's under the right hand side head light assembly.
you need to get to it to check the power to and from it when the engine is at the operating temperature.
a repair shop with proper equiptment can use a scan tool to demand the fan to turn on. if it does not turn on then the relay is bad, with condition that the fan is known good

It is a cooling fan,I assume? The problem is a coolant fan relay,if the relay is unplugged, the fan will stop, that is the relay to replace.

the only problem that vehicle has is with cooling fans is relay/module or electrical harness to module that burns up located behind and under right front headlamp assy must remove headlamp to access relay/module that is what powers up fan motor module assy.
