Question about 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier
How do you put a window motor on a chevy cavalier
Posted on Aug 11, 2009
You window regulator is broken. For power windows you have a motor and a regulator. The motor obviously powers the window up and down, but the regulator is what the window actually sits on and moves the window up or down. Sometimes the regulators can brake where they connect to the motor and that is what makes it so you can hear the motor working but the window doesn't mve. A broken regulator also leads to the window falling unexpectedly (like right when you are about to roll into a car wash, that's when it happened to me!). You probably can't find a regulator at your auto parts store but check anyway. You can normally pick them up on ebay or a junkyard (even online junkyards). I would get a regulator with motor not without. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
