Hello Tywillia Uriega,

Reading you cars DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
(DTCs) would/should be the first OBVIOUS step...

But ALAS even AUTOZONE (in my opinion) misreads...
these codes in their national TV commercials...

If you are getting a "Number 6" issue
(two V6 engine sizes available)... There are several
reasons the cylinder cold have issues...

In the ABSENCE of any DTC information...
First:
a SPARK TESTER should verify
the electrics are working...!!

SECOND:
I would recommend a compression test
(on all SIX cylinders)... Looking for a mechanical failure

If you find a profound difference in a cylinder
(or two) you have found your issue...

From there you need only test wet/dry to attempt to determine if the valves or rings can be identified as the issue.

Hope this helps

I'd go back to the basics and do a compression test and a cylinder leak test first..then test for spark on that cylinder and injector pulse.

have the crank sensor check for erratic operation. if you have done all of that then there is nothing else. and they way the computer knows it is misfiring (if it is) false code maybe and could be bad crank sensor. good luck

When you change the plug what color is the tip of the old one? This could be the answer to your problems. It should be a light beige or tan if everything is working properly.Just take one of the old plugs down to your local garage and get the mechanic to have a look at it. He'll be able to tell you why it keeps misfiring. Hope this helps.

P1151 means a lean bank 2 O2 sensor
P1152 Means a rich bank 2 O2 sensor
P1309 Means miss fire detected
I would check your fuel injector for fouling
When they foul the will develop a drip
Causing a fuel fluctuation that will have O2 sensors reporting rich and lean voltage changes
This causes the pcm to adjust injector pulses making them shorter and longer.
causing more fuel or less fuel.
From this condition you may see plug fouling.
Also check for leaking or faulty fuel pressure regulator or restricted return line.
Most of the time it wont be a bad O2 sensor the O2 sensor is just doing its job.
You also have already changed the plugs and Map so there already out of the way.
If this helps please give me some feed back
Hope this works for you FixYa

Check engine light is on code is P0306 which I believe is the 6 cyl is misfiring. How can I test to see if it is the plug or spark plug wire

Spark plugs don't fail to fire
Wires last, sometimes, the life of the veh,20 years

Go with bad coil pack or COP Coil #6,which ever applies.

Ford ranger #4cylinder misfire, 4.0/ v-6 already changed plugs, wires& coil pack.

the misfire may be caused by a fuel injector that is not working. Do you have a good spark at that cylinder?. If so try the redneck approach to fixing a stuck fuel injector. first make sure the fuel injector plug is clean(terminals) and on tight. With the engine running, Take a long socket extension and place an end on the fuel inector plastic housing, tap on the other end with a hammer. LIGHT taps!!! remember its just plastic! sometimes this is enough to free up a stuck injector. If not, then replace the injector.

before you do this Unplug the injector and see if the engine idle changes. Also check for an electrcal pulse at the injector plug with engine running.

I have a ford explorer 99 but it's giving a error code PO306 what do u think it is

It sounds like a misfire. Check spark plugs 5 and 6. It could be bad fuel, bad plug wire, or weak coil. Check the fuel injectors as well. Other possible causes could be an egr valve stuck open, vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure.
