It could be an intake manifold gasket causeing this...it could also be a head gasket and/or cracked cylinder head. You can pressure test the cooling system to check the intake gasket, and compression test the cylinders for head problems.. If you have had an overheating problem in the past the cylinder heads and gaskets would mostly likely be the problem....Removing the spark plugs will give you an indication on where the water is entering...the plug will be discolored.
Good luck..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

Head gasket leaking or head is warped or cracked & at worst, a cracked engine block!
a chemical check will confimrm this but motor will have to be stripped down & inspected etc.
Cheers rob.

Oil in water circuit

oil in water is usually caused by bad intake gaskets. if the intake leaks, it will let oil in water. anti freeze flows in intake, if gasket is bad it will drain down inside of engine to the oil. good-day ! you may also see a anti freeze leak around outside of intake gasket that mounts to engine. if it is bad enough.

How does water get in to the exhaust from intake gasket. I have a 1999 grand an v6. starts blowing white smoke with in 1min after started. no signs of coolant in oil. runs great. I have the intake off only...

If water/coolant is getting into the intake, it is drawn into the cylinders on the intake stoke-if it is not a big leak, you might not see evidence of it in oil for a while, but you eventually will, and the antifreeze will also create problems with crank, rod and cam bearings over time. Installing a new intake gasket should solve your problem, use a straightedge to make sure where the intake mates to the head in the suspected area is flat.

My blazer started this morning but was leaking antifreeze on the ground. I don't think its the water pump. could it be the intake manafold gasket? it seems to be leaking at the front of the intake.

It would either be the intake gasket, thermostat housing gasket, upper hose at the thermostat housing,or the heater hose that enters the intake.

Water is mixed with oil.

Fix this ASAP, Coolant in oil will ruin bearings. Have a shop check it ASAP. I would check the intake manifold gaskets first.

Gasket is blown, water in my oil.

As long as the heads are not damaged from overheating repairing would be an option rather than replacing the engine. Get advise from a mechanic you trust. The intake manifold gaskets are the most common problem with this vehicle if you have the V6 engine.

1999 chevy lumina has water in the oil

This is typical of a bad head gasket. The gasket is shot, allowing the coolant to mix in w/ the oil.
