Question about 2001 Dodge Neon
Hello mark_mack...The Neons water pump
is an internal part which is powered by the timing belt. For installation all the accessories, belts, timing cover and motor mount has to be removed. Then the serpentine belt, the lower crank pulley has to be removed. The water pump is behind it and can be replaced in five minutes...just takes awhile to get to it. I would not recommennd doing this job without the knowledge and proper tools.
Note: this would be a good time to replace the timing belt as well, since you already have it removed.
Good luck..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.
