You can adjust the fuel pump idle its better than placing foam to the gas tank. The foam can cause clogging if the foam tear into peaces .It is not correct.

No there could be a number of reason, bad gas, pvc valve needs to be replaced, fuel filter plugging up, egr valve sensor needs to be replaced or the oxygen sensor . Best to have a diagnostic done before replacing a lot of expensive parts. Takes the guess work out .

Is there a remedy to rough idle and jerky acceleration from a stopped position?

If you have water in your tank the injector cleaner gets diluted but will not fix your rough idle problem. Try a can of Sea Foam. It will smoke like crazy for 10-15 minutes but that is perfectly normal.

My checck engine light is blinking it came on 2 months ago i was told i neede a map sensor or cat convertor light is now blinking and car has hessitation

buy a can of sea foam motor treatment at a auto parts store pour it in the gas tank with at least a half tank of gas disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 15 seconds reconnect, than start car and drive it should solve problem with hesitation if the problem comes back check for a bad injector are fouled spark plug, you should put sea foam or other brands of injector cleaner fuel conditioner in your gas every other fill up ethanol gas fouls plugs and causes injectors to clog because of the carbon that it forms on your pistons valves and intake runners, sea foam will cure this problem

My engine stalls intermitenly upon braking and will stall again after restart when i put it in gear

Take it to a shop and have it "smoke checked" This is a canister that uses smoke and low pressure to help locate what I believe your problem is, which is a vacuum leak. Before you pay to have it checked, look for any signs of a leak. Any leak that is behind the mass air sensor will cause this problem. Look for broken or cracked hoses and don't be afraid to wiggle hoses and your intake tube to help discover the leak.

.... Robert Grove
johnallen496, when you say it stalls at low speeds and stops, do you mean when slowing down and coming to a stop? does it stall at low speeds while the car is moving with your foot on the pedal just a little like when driving through a parking lot?...

I used the wrong box above, oh well ....

The most common cause of stalling at low speeds, especially idling and decelerating to a stop is carbon buildup. The throttle plates get coated with carbon closing down the opening slightly, this affects the idle speed, causing the engine to stall at idle and coming to a stop.

also carbon builds up in the cylinders and absorbs fuel intended to be burnt, leaning out the mixture and causing rough/low idle and stalling - especially when the engine is cold. Dirty injectors can cause the same symptoms/results

As a maintenance routine It's good to have the throttle plates cleaned and perform a top engine de-carbon treatment, and fuel injection service in more severe cases

Sea Foam makes a spray that works great for minor de-carbon service, just spay it into the throttle plates while it is running, one to two cans will do, add a can of Sea Foam or Techron to the gas tank each time you fill up for the next few tank full's.

If you still have problems sek out a qualified professional

Good luck!

Car runs rough n stalls at times

fuel filter is bad or you have a dirty fuel tank go to auto zone get a bottle of sea foam and thats the name on the bottle fill your gas tank up to half a tank and pour the sea foam in the gas tank then drive it until you have refill it again now it will run rough after you put this in what its doing is breaking down all the trash and particules in the bottom of the gas tank and its clogging the filter after you do this replace the fuel filter and either way your solving the problem

1987 corvette with 26000 mile always garage kept from birth. Start once a week always starts inless than half a crank. But after ran down road for while and shut off takes 5-7 revolutions to fire. Almost...

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

My truck idles rough but when im on the gas runs fine. i got p0300 code, iv replaced cap and roter, plugs and wires, and put sea foam in tank.

That is a random misfire code that could be because of low compression in 2 cylinders. Check compression in each.
