Question about 1985 Cadillac Eldorado
My belt went out and its not charging and its overheating but the belt that runs from the alternator to the cooling fan is fine. I can't figure out how to get the other one on?
Take a look at the front of your vehicle under the hood just above the rad , should have a belt configuration on it. Also you will have the belt Assembly listed in your owners manual. there is jacking bolts or some models you will need a socket driver to torque the tensioner over enough to slip belt back on. Check the tensioner and idler pulleys for wear , usually this is the cause of your problem.
