1994 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER lost Gas/speedom/tacom/water temp gauges

Everything else on the cars electrical system works. Runs great! But I have lost all the dash gauges. The 5 amp fuse in space 14 for "cruise mess cntr" is blown and the same for the two replacement fuses, this happens when key is turned on and the starter is NOT engaged. 53k on the mileage. I have inspected all wiring under the hood and can not find any that are damaged. What and where should I look now?? I would like to trace the wires but do not know where the go and the color codes. All dash lights work and all other electrical stuff works fine. The break light is on but very faint, if I apply the parking break then it goes on full but when released it is still faint also interior lights take much longer to fade off even when I am driving.

Not quite answering the question... why would fuses keep blowing as soon as I put them in and turn on the ignition power and even prior to cranking the ignition?? I can always take it to a dealer or service center but then I would not be here posting a question. The car starts just fine, runs great, and has no other issues. It just lost the gauges.

I looked around, fiddled with all the connections, disconnected the - & + sides of the battery and cleaned both sides even though they look clean enough, reconnected all and WOW it works. It did not blow the 5 Amp fuse, I have all four gauges back up and running. Thank you Mr BrokRench for answering my question with an answer that gave direction!!

Hello lybolts3...You will need a digitial multimeter to help troubleshoot this problem. With this you can help determine the problem. No doubt you have more than 5 amps through the circuit, causeing the fuse to blow.Check the actual amperage and voltage at the fuse box, make sure it has a good ground... a bad ground will have the same effect as a short...If you have a good ground, 12 volts and bus voltage on the plus and minus
bus wires the cluster should work. both bus wires should be around 2.5 volts. If one of the bus wires is 2.2v the other should be 2.3v and so on. The back of the instrument cluster where the connectors attach is another place to check...clusters have been known to fail..a bad soder or corroded pin. Last but not least..the ignition switch and the BCM...the gauges get their info from the BCM and the switch powers it.
Good luck..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

It seems to be some loose contact some where or it may be due to Battery problem. It would be great if you consult with service center

I know that there is a fuse you can pull in the glove box that will disengage the alarm system (i forget which one). Be warned however, pulling that fuse will also disables your speedometer, temp gauge, and fuel gauge, possibly oil level gauge too.

How do you reset an alarm for a 1994 chrysler new yorker

there is no manual reset other than locking and unlocking the passenger or driver door with a key. the alarm is also disarmed each time the ignition key is turn to run, if u are locked out and have tried these methods to disarm the security system them there is a problem and the dealer must scan the Body Control Module (BCM) to determine what that might be.

Why is my chrysler new yorker waisting alot of gas and throwing black smoke from muffler

Iam sure you have a check engine or service engine soon light on, if so do computer diag, but with my experience it could be three thing's, check your MAP sensor and make sure it has vacum going to it, if it don't will make your car run rich to much gas not enough air, also check you CTS (coolant temp. sensor) if not reading right computer will think it's cold and will dump gas, again running rich, and last have your catilitic convertor check to make sure it's not clog, again to much gas not enough air.
