I replaced my camshaft position sensor in my 2009 chevy cobalt..how do I fix the timing? It's still off.

for starters you should have set your number one piston at top dead center (TDC) before you just changed the sensor, All it need is to be one or two teeth out on the timing chain to run rough, here is a link to a guide on how to solve this problem , I hope it helps:

Car Starts Really Rough.

Check the fuel/air sensor and air filter. When you first start the car only press the accelerator pedal once. If while turning the ignition switch you here a grinding noise that would be your starter going out. The smell of fuel signals that your car is either flooded from pressing pedal or fuel mixture is incorrect. Hope this helps.

change the 02 sensor, that is a common problem of why a car would run rough and smell of unburnt fuel

Crysler lhs 96 runs real rough...smells rich. rpm goes up and down. wont stay running.

Most likely faulty 02 sensors. They tell the computer how much gas to give the car. A faulty camshaft position sensor may also act this way to. You can check sensor with an ohmmeter and check that there is an electrical flow through the sensor.

Cant find my crank position sensor on 97 chevy cavalier z24

On 2.2L 4CYL VIN[4] It's located on rear side of cylinder block below coil module.
On 2.4L 4CYL VIN[T] It's located on front side of cylinder block almost dead center.

it sounds to me that the sensor your talking about is the camshaft positioning sensor. It regulates how much fuel you get to your engine, so that is also why you have the fuel smell as well.

Where is the camshaft position sensor located-99 Chevy Lumina 3.1

It's held down by one bolt right above the timing chain cover. It's next to the head that's facing toward the front of the car.
