700r4 on camaro leaking like crazy!

I recently changed out my tranny in my 84 z28. i finally got it feeling right. but no matter what i do, i cant get the pan to stop leaking! ive tried two different pans changed the gasket 3 or 4 times, changed my dipstick gromet, checked my lines and everything. please help!! everyone says not to put gasket sealant on it unless i use the cork gasket. so im very tempted to get a cork gasket and use some. its leaking in the same spot every time. passanger side of the pan. and it pours too. i know its coming from the pan cuz ive been all under it. what do i do?

On my 1994 camaro z28 lt 1, i broke the vacuum lines and when i replaced them my tranny does not go to O.D.and acts like dont wont to change.

There is a vacuum modulator on the side on the transmission that needs a vacuum to it. It has to be to a direct vacuum port. Not thru a switch or valve.

700r4 in a 84 K10 blazer wont shift until you let off gas

Most of the older trannys had a vacuum modulator that told the transmission when to shift. If there is a vacuum leak, or that hose is disconnected, they won't shift correctly. I hope this helps.

What would cause the turn signals and brake lights to simultaneously stop working

I would check your fuses. I had an 84 Z28 that was notorious for popping fuses. If the fuses are ok I would check for a jumped wire.

83 camaro transmission problem

I'd put my money on the transmission starting to slip. You are losing revs because the clutches are worn and not making proper contact. If you haven't recently changed the tranny fluid and filter, now would be a good time to do it and add a full bottle of Lucas trans oil while you are doing it. This will help to extend the life of the trans a little longer while you figure out what to do with it, rebuild or replace. I've had pretty good luck with this, getting as much as a year out of the tranny. Hope this helps.

Camaro leak

it may be the back of the intake leaking where it mates to the block, you do not have to remove the engine to repair, if thats what it is.

Bought the wrong 700r4?!

I believe the bolt pattern is the same that transmission should bolt up to your v-8 assuming it's a small block, the transmission should work fine, you may need to modify the shifter but everything else should be compatible, if your v-8 is carberated make sure you have the correct throttle link set up because correct tv cable adjustment is critical, the v-6 transmission may have a lighter stack up in the 3-4 drum so dont be to hard on it while in 3rd or 4th.

good luck

2 fuel pumps on 84 z28????!!!?

My guess is if you changed to an older style sending unit, you could eliminate that electric pump & just use your mechanical one as they did before EFI.

I have a 1988 chevy camaro z28 and first gear works fine second gear will aonly go to 2500 rpms and then will slip out, unless i punch it, then it will catch the top of third gear. but i cant go lower than...

sounds like you need a tranny, or perhaps check the modulator, pull the the vacuum line off of it, if tranny fluid comes out then, the diaphragm is split.
