I have a 99 tahoe that will accerlerate very slowy, procrastinate when shifting and when I would punch it, it seems to bog or stumble over itself. I tried doing a tune - up thinking this was the case. I found out its the ignition module near the distributor on top of the motor passenger side. this is a 99 tahoe 5.7L, not exactly sure if it would be the same for your s10.

1999 dodge durango is hard to start. Starts with rough idle with some backfire, then idles smooth. after sitting idle for a minute it will act as if wanting to stall on takeoff! Have changed the fuel pump...

FIrst have you tried giving the engine a tune up (ie replaced the spark plugs)

Also you need to check the condition of all the vacumn lines on the engine loss of vacumn can cause poor idling.

2000 dodge durango not shifting right

With my personal experience that I have in all the vehicles with similar problems the solution is the same. Transmission tune-up believe me, the fluid is low or the filter is clogged and the fluid has lost its lubricity that's all. Do not get convinced you need a new transmission or some other sensor. Its more economic to give it a tune-up before assuming anything else is wrong with the vehicle. Check my advice on a trans tune-up. If you already replaced sensors and messed with whatever else once you do the tune-up it might not be as new. Because things that affect the transmission were tampered with. But after the tune-up you will be able to drive it with no worries. First off all check the trans fluid level, if low find the leak, repair it if any then do the tune-up. If the fluid is low and you find red oil underneath the radiator, engine or transmission let me know.
