Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer
I took the car to an ac specialist and he said the pressure in the high line is ok but there is no pressure in the low line. The compressor is making a shelly noise and the technician says i will need to get one because of noise it is making. I am now wondering if a blocked expansion valve could cause the compressor to make this shelly noise.
thanks in advance
I had the same trouble; it turned out to be a broken cable that controls the air temp. Look under the dash by the clutch pedal. Hope this helps.

It could cause it but either way the system has to be evacuated and totally recharged. Any way you look at it, it isn't a cheap adventure and has to be pretty much done by a trained tech unless you have all the stuff to do it. Sorry for the bad news.
