Question about 2002 Pontiac Grand Am
My car does this as well, my mechanic has me pull in the e-brake for 1 click and then turn the key to the on position without turning the car on, after about 10 mins the car will start again

Under the steering columb is a hole you can stick a chop-stick in there and unlock the lock. It will take a time or two of trying. If you have a re-cut key this may be the cause. If you want you can take off the cover and remove the lock soleniod. It is a small soleniod some times you can just unplug it.
