My 2001 xterra started making a weird sound between 20 and 35 mph. It sounds like there is a leak in some pressure system.

Common Car Noises and Their Likely Causes Noise More Details Likely Cause Fixing It Clicking noise while turning Starts faint, gradually becomes more noticeable until very loud Failed outer CV joint (constant velocity joint) due to torn boot (most likely) or old age Replace either the whole axle assembly (recommended) or the outer CV joint Water pump noises Difficult to diagnose because of water pump's location Noise usually caused by damage to the bearings in failed water pump Only cure is replacing it. If possible do it at the same time as a timing belt replacement to cut down on labor costs Squeak or squeal from an engine belt Loud, high-pitched squeak or squeal Belts either need adjustment or replacing If belts only squeak when damp, they probably just need adjustment. If they squeak constantly, they probably need to be replaced Exhaust heat shield noises Rattle that you hear when car is idling Damaged heat shield Replace heat shield

1998 kia sportage 4WD engine turns but wont turn over (dosent even try) it just makes a winding sound and leaking coolant around harmonic balancer?

Sounds like your water pump leaking and a broken timing belt. The water pump runs off the timing belt, and sounds like your water pump took out the belt. The winding noise you hear sounds like the engine crank turning but not the cam shaft, broken belt, no compression. Have someone watch the harmonic while you try to start it. If it's turning, that's your problem.

Some time when i start my car the engine will make a humming sound. and some time when i am driving the engine will make the same noise.

Turn off the airconditioning to see if that helps. If it does, then it is likely the airconditioning compressor.

Remove the water pump drive belt. Feel the water pump for free play. If excessive, then replace the pump. You can try spinning it too to see if it's noisy.

WIth the drive belts off, start the car for a few seconds. Twenty seconds tops should do it. Not too long as it will overheat.
Is the noise still present. If not, then check all pump bearings, pulley bearings, tensioner bearings, water pump etc as the noise is one of those things.

I was told its the waterpump that is making a load snorkeling noice what is its if not? almost like a dieseling noice also

Yes the water pump can make noises but there is also the belts that can make noises.
So pour some water when the car starts on the belt and pump area to see if the sound stops, if belt noise it will stop but if this is the water pump, the alternator bearing or the idler pulley , it must be checked.

Spinning sound when pushing gas peddle, sitting

try it with the belts off you can start it and see if the spinning noise goes away then it's accessory's like bad alternator or power steering pump but dont run it more than a minute or two or it will start to overheat. and if it still makes spinning noise make sure it's not coming from the transmission /use a broomstick against the engine block near each piston to hear the condition of the pistons if there scored real bad it makes noticable diff noise than a diff piston will make. check the front of the engin the water pump sometimes needs to be replaced because the bearing in it drys up and fails / there sealed bearings in a water pump than go make noise . good luck give you stuff to think about.

Is fuel getting into the carb?  If it is, is the float chamber full?  Is the float stuck?
