Question about 2006 Pontiac G6
I lost the key to my 2006 pontiac g6. I had a new key made today at a different dealersip then where I bought the car. The service people where I got the new key said that due to the chip in the key I would need to manually override the alarm system by - turning the key to the on position for ten minutes, to the off position for five seconds, back on for ten minutes, off for 5 seconds, on for 10 minutes, off for 5 seconds and then it should start. However, it did not. I called pontiac customer assistance and they said the override is specific to each dealership. However, my dealership has gone out of business.
Do you have 1 key that works? turn to on poss, then off ,quickly remove and put in new key and turn to on poss, and lock light should go off,, new key is programed.. and should work,
