Hmm, yeah that should fix the problem for sure. THe only other thing it could be would be something else worn in the suspension- ball joints or control arm bushings
try this trun key on for 10 to 20 min.s do not try and start it just trun it on. after waiting then trun key off and try to start. this should reset your system.

Check in fuse panel area for a second flasher. Usually 1 for hazard, & 1 for signals. If signals don't illuminate at all when signals on, check for fuse in panel.
