Question about Chevrolet C3500

1 Answer

Still looking for assistance for a 2000 3500 Chevy 5.7 liter that won't start without starter fluid. Changed fuel filter, cam sensor, crank sensor, temp sensor, fuel pressure regulator. When egine fires with started fluid it runs without hesitation on the road and then when shut off, it won't start again without starter fluid. No computer codes showing. Any Ideas. Thanks

If there was a fuel injector problem, the vehicle would not run smoothly, and skip and smoke. After starting with the starter fluid the vechicle will run without any problem until it is shut off again. On the initial cranking over of the engine, what tells the injectors to spray fuel to fire? Is there a test to help determine if there is a computer issue? Thanks

Could be the injectors are worn, the fuel is not atomizing. dribbling more than spraying.

Van no start

The fact that it starts if you spray it indicates that you have a fuel problem. Either out of gas, low fuel pressure, fuel pump issue.

How do I fix and 97 GMC 1/2 ton with a 350 vortec. Runs great once running. Sat for 5 years. If sits more than 5 minutes wont start without shot of starer fluid

have you changed the fuel filter and emptied the gas tank and put fresh gas in? Stale gas will not start as well as fresh gas and there could be water from condensation in the tank.

Starting fluid light up or burns with compression check crank sensor. And cam sounds like it's not getting fuel at the right time when firing and it will cause it to fluid

Won't start

Maybe your injector circuit is not working. Pull off one injector connector and check for power on one of the two wires to the injector-turn key to on, and one wire should have power. If no power with key on, pull off all injector connectors and recheck for power- a shorted injector may shut down the injector circuit, that's why to pull off all injector connectors. If still no power on one wire to each injector, diagnose the injector drive circuit. Also check the fuse for injectors.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.

2000 chevy express 5.0 2500 series starts, runs and dies all in 10 seconds. changed fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator, and starter(only cause sparks were comming from the solenoid)

Try swapping out the fuel pump relay, if thats good try testing your ignition system components. Start with the module and coil pack. If they are ok check the crank position or cam position sensor (which ever applies).

1991 chevy lumina 3.1 liter.problem started it was fine then went 3 blocks and it died stopping at sign.had problems getting it back started and it drive fine for a minute and lost power to like 20 mph but...

It is one of 2 things fuel pump or Crank Shaft Position Sensor. Best bet would be the Crank Shaft Sensor, and what that does is tell the computer where the crank is and when to fire the right plug at the right time
