Air condition compressor will not turn on

Air condition was working fine last night. I started vehicle this morning compressor will not turn on. The compressor cluth is not frozen I can turn it with my hand. I do not believe it is low on freon because it was not cycling on and off prior to this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Suggestions are - - Check the wiring to the clutch - ck for a blown fuse - ck for the press switch on the Accumulator tank (large silver tank at the firewall pass side) - Last ck for freon press. Trouble-shoot system - Try a 12vdc test light or volt/ohm meter and ck for 12volts power at the clutch, if you have no power and the a/c switch is in the on pos. in the cab. you have to ck the press switches and all related plugs and harnesses. Most likely shes low on freon.

Check fuses and relay first. If that is not the problem I would start by bypassing the High and Low pressure cut off switches and see if that solves it. If it does solve it, you do not want to leave them disconnected. They should be replaced.

Also check the condition of the contacts on the plug that goes to the A/C compressor.

Why doesnt my 2008 Cadillac Escalade start? it was working fine turned it off then 4 hrs later won't turn on i had to tow it home.

A diagnosis of your issue cannot be provided without more information about the nature of the failure, and possibly some level of diagnosis. I recommend that you take the car to a mechanic.

Car stalls when ac or defrost on

Sounds like the compressor is dragging the engine down. The compressor runs in ac and defrost mode. You might try unplugging the compressor to verify.

Your compressor lines could be frozen so gases will not be doing there job. Or possibly you have leaking duct work. Does it feel hot in every room or just in a few. If it is just certain rooms your duct work has come apart some where in attic

When driving the vehicle will die, if it sets for a little bit it will restart. This all started a year ago, when we turned on the air conditioning, before that it would run fine, but it seemed only w

If the compressor is failing, or there is a restriction in the ac system, the compressor could put a heavy load on the belt and the engine.
Normally the ac clutch would slip and not kill the engine, but anything is possible.
I t could be something else electrical too.

1999 Buick Le Sabre Custom, My heat, and defrost work fine, but my car won't cool when I turn on the AC. My air conditioning is charged and the blowers work fine but why wont they blow cold air?

The first I would do is check if the a/c compressor is working. Start vehicle then turn a/c on in vehicle full power and then off/on a couple of times if you hear a click when turned on then compressor is working properly. If this is the case then you need freon. If not turning on,first check fuses, for location refer to owners manual,if not fuse then compressor needs to be checked which then you will need service manual purchase at local autoparts store.

Power steering stops when I turn on the air conditioning

YES. or the belt may be slipping. does the a/c work? if the belt is tight and the a/c does not work, then the a/c compressor is trying to sieze and will need replacement. if you dont need the a/c disconnect the wires to it.

Air conditioning

There is a cabin filter in the vehicle that might need replaceing and it is inside the vehicle under the dash if that was not the problem. You might go and have the system checked for leaks and the compressor checked as well and recharge the system.
