If the starter is not on the passengers side of the engine, then it will be mounted under the intake manifold, Cadillac used this feature on the Northstar to protect it for the weather and to provide more room under vehicle.

CAN NOT LOCATE THE SPEED SENSOR ON A CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

I know that on the 4.3 liter engine models it is mounted on the transmission. Pretty sure it's the same with the 8 cylinder engines as well but don't quote me on that. I hope this helped and good luck.

The correct firing order is 18436572. If you need the correct cylinder locations they are as follows: Drivers side from the front 1 3 5 7; passenger side 2 4 6 8. Should be located on top of the intake manifold.

2001 Silverado 1500: Where is the starter located on a 2001 chevy silve...

Hello, my name is Ben. Your starter is down low on the passenger side of the truck, at the right rear of the engine. If you get under the truck on the passenger side and look up, you will see it.

Where is my starter switch

its most likely the starter but first if you know where the starter is smack it with a hammer a few times and it may start. Also clean the battery terminals. they may be dirty. If this is really a starter issue then if this doesnt work you will need someone to diagnose it so as not to replace the wrong parts

Sometimes it takes 300 tries to get truck to start

you could have a bad solenoid. which is located on the starter and can be replaced seperately for $8-$10. Starter is quiet a bit more. Either way the starter has to come off.

Looking for the location of the crank position sensor and the knock sensor for a 2001 chevrolet silverado with a 4.8 8cylinder engine

Crank sensor; right (pass.) side of block above the starter. You may have to remove the starter to remove the crank sensor.

Knock sensor: There may be 2, a front and a rear. Both would be UNDER the intake manifold on top of the engine block one behind the other about 8 inches or so apart. The manifold and associated item may or may not need to be removed to access the sensors.
