Ok I assume you checked both fuel and spark and are lacking spark...Most common failure in this area is the crank position sensor. But don't run out and buy one yet...get a manual (chilton or haynes covers this pretty well) and a decent volt/ohm meter and do some testing to verify!!!

My alternator keeps going out

The voltage regulator isn't being turned on when it is need

The challenge it to look at wiring diagrams & see what controls it

Jumping a dead battery is a dangerous thing to do

Batteries require they be fully charged before being put
back into service- to continue any testing

If you even jump a car made in the last decade,
you may smoke the electronics

On newer cars you disconnect the battery, to charge
it alone from the vehicles systems

1993 buick skylark wont start. its not getting spark. changed coil packs, still no fire. battery is fully charged, fuel pump comes on. why would stop it from turning over fully?

is the check engine light on?if you have no spark, start with the wires, and work your way back. you say that you replaced the coil packs..... it could be a crank position sensor. please get back to me if the check engine light is on. also, let me know what happened from the start. were you driving? has the car sat for a while?

Motor wont turn over but starter is trying to just wont fire up

How is the battery and battery connections? New and clean should be your answer. After two years a battery will not be in good shape and corrosion will have occurred between the terminals between battery and vehicle. Have battery checked and clean the mating surfaces of the connectors before you connect it back up. Replace battery if it fails test, charge it fully otherwise.

Replaced alternator and battery acted like not enough juice to turn over but battery fully charged changed battery terminals now no start fire

sounds like you have left a cable off the battery terminal ,some vehicles have more than one cable on the battery terminal ,also when started take the neg battery lead off and if engine stops then its a new alternator ,if engine keeps running then the fault is the battery for a slow turn over .

Problems with starting up battery is fully charged glow plugs was new in december 09 will sometimes start with jump starter also brand new heavey duty battery last week and still wont start on occasions

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

You are on the right track with a heavy duty battery. You have a diesel engine. It has a high compression. If you replace your starter with a heavy duty one, that should clear up your problem.

If I can be of further help let me know.

Have a 1996 Taurus wagon--dead battery--got brand new battery and connected it properly and car barely turns over and wont turn enough to start--car was sitting for about three months

Was the battery checked before it was sold to you? Batteries will lose their charge over a period of time even when not hooked up. If you have a voltmeter it should read 12.8 volts on a fully charged battery.
Have you tried to boost the car with cables?
I suspect if the car was working OK 3 months ago it should start. Which leads me to suggest an undercharged battery.

94 z wont start

You will have to check, at the starter, for power to the SMALL wire on the starter solenoid (which is on the starter) when turning the ignition switch to start.
If there is power to this wire ( usually purple ) and power at the LARGE cable ( from the battery ) at the starter end.....you need a starter.

If you do not have power at the small wire at the solenoid with the key in start position and battery power is OK.....check the safety neutral switch.Moving the shifter around a little can sometimes allow the car to start if the neutral switch is worn.

A new battery does not always mean a fully charged battery.
Try a boost from another car before testing the starter for power.

The battery cables need to be clean and tight....and check the ground to the engine as well.

Everything else may work OK with bad connections, they don't use the power the starter needs to turn the engine over.
