it may afect the climate control to operate right,
try to locate the temperature sensor than most times is in the lower side of the wilshiel and on top of dash board and see what happend

As of this morning, the outside air temperature was indicating correctly. I suspect that washing the car using high pressure spray near the grill somehow caused the sensor to malfunction until it dried out.

You will find the ambient temperature sensor behind the grille and in front of the condensor. The grille will have to be removed to replace the sensor.

This may be a wiring issue as the sensor is electronic in nature. Any loose wiring may cause the voltage across the sensor to differ resulting in an inaccurate reading.
