I have been having intermittent power steering failure. Nothing seems to preclude this it can be fine then heavy as lead and a few minutes later fine again.

If the pump is bad, you will see wear in the rollers and the fluid will have metallic particles in it. No pump is worth $950, so look for a used one or one of similar shape for some other vehicle.
If the pump is bad, then the hold system will be contaminated and need flushing.
But intermittent loss of power steering more often is dirt in the rack.

I have a 2008 chevy impala flex fuel v6 3.5 I had the code po303 come up. So I changed spark plugs and wires and ignitor coil pack. But still on.

Bummer deal! Disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 seconds or so an reconnect it. This clears the codes and it takes several days for the computer to relearn. Then see if a code lite come on and check that out, if so. Did you gap the plugs properly? too wide or too narrow will trigger a code. A dirty combustion area results from your problem. I always use the product treatment at this web page to be sure its not residues causing your problem in one area or another. Hope this helps.

Is there fuel filter in Mazda mpv 2002

yes, it has.
Remove the single screw in the foot well panel on the passenger side.
Lift the panel out of the foot well. The filter is exposed in the area the panel was covering.
Pull the old filter straight out of the filter compartment. Pull it toward the rear of the 626 to remove it. Install a new filter by reversing the steps.
